I agreed to trade 4 very nice Boston Terriers with Shanon and her boyfriend (who she claims is her husband, he is not. They live together and do not report it so that she can collect an ssi check).
They arrived with the dogs on Sunday. Three AKC Shih Tzu's. Is what was to be traded for the Bostons. I was shocked and very saddened to see the condition they were in. I almost told her NO thanks but felt bad as she is handicapped and had driven so far, that was my 2nd mistake, the first was trusting this woman. I had to take these dogs to my vet to be sedated before they could be groomed. The matting was so horrible that my A-5 clippers wouldn't begin to cut through it. My vets office shaved them down, it came off in big solid chunks with straw and what smelled like horse manure , this was all matted to the skin. I had to pay $70 per dog to have them groomed. And what was under the skin was just as bad, they had sores all over their bodies. Shanon told me ( and as I found out later others who had inquired about the dogs) that they were due to be in season soon. The next day after she gets home she emails to ask me how bad they were to groom and to say that oh yeah they were bred for PomTzus. As it turns out the smaller female was indeed pregnant and bred to a Pom. I do not breed mixes and Shanon knew this. had she told me before hand I would have never traded with this woman.
i purchased two Poodles from her at the same time and they were just as bad , horribly matted , the male was skin and bones, you could see it once the hair was gone. I could not leave them with her , I knew they would continue to be matted up and miserable.
i did write her two checks for them. I did stop pmnt on them. You bet your butt I did after the huge vet bill to get them groomed and finding out that the Shih Tzu was bred for mutts. I paid $400 via PayPal and have receipts to prove it. That was what I owed her minus vet bills.
i have plenty of pictures and vet reports if anyone would like more information on this horrible breeder.
PLEASE if you are considering buying from her go look for yourself where the parents of the puppies are kept. She has MANY animals , way to many for her to afford to feed or care for. She is making a living from SSI and these poor animals.
