South Shore Lasers failed in every way possible to deliver the service they promised upon purchase. I "bought" a groupon and then was told I "had to have a consultation", even though I already made my desired purchase. At my consultation I was told I was receiving a "special" deal and convinced me to buy another 3 treatments. The salesman even said he wanted to hang out as friends, was entirely unprofessional, but I went ahead thinking it was a good deal. I was also promised that in 6 services, i'd be 100% satisfied and have no hair or regrowth.
This couldn't have been further from the truth. After far more than 6 sessions, many of which were sporadic because they were so horrendous at scheduling, they would screw up my appointments and force me to rebook at a later date. They then blamed the lack of results on the fact I was consistent in my treatments when in fact that was their fault to begin with. South Shore Lasers is a train wreck.
The aestheticians were unprofessional as well, i was burned a total of 3 times and given free microderm treatments as consolation each time (none of which I ever used). I came to find that the lasers they used on me (soprano) was over 6 years old! The snotty technitian slipped up during a treatment while she was telling me about the owners wife cheating on him. So unprofessional.
I believe the effectiveness of my treatment varied entirely because of the equipment they use is sh*t, the strength of the laser is sh*t, and the ditsy young kids who administered my treatment were incopetent.
I got really upset about the lack of results, and the salesman "guaranteed me results". I failed to get this in writing which was foolish, but I trusted them to keep there word, a choice I certainly now regret...
The first office in Babylon, NY I went to closed and they never even notified me, then they re-opened a few weeks later stating that they had changed owners- I actually showed up for an appointment and found out the hard way. I resumed treatment purely because i had spent so much and wanted the results I inititally payed for when i moved to LI because an office was near my home.
You would think a legitimate business would be more professional and actually care about the patients results. They called me back recently and told me my service has expired! Ive been too busy with other life priorities to argue with them since from the past i've learned it's entirely futile since they wont refund my money.
And its worth noting that the owner Michael Roemer in his website BIO has the nerve to portrey himself as a stand-up citizen and a member of the Chaimber of Commerce in Babylon. He is an unprofessional maggot. He nevver returned my calls. He always had others do it for him. Regarding the reference to one of our many technologies (devices), the Cavi Lipo is proven to be a very successful therapeutic device. Unfortunately other Spa facilities began advertising this technology as a guaranteed cellulite reduction treatment while some others even went as far as raising the frequency levels internally, which may result in deep heat penetration of the adipose tissue. This is specifically what has resulted in the Cavi lipo being misbranded as per the FDA under section 502 Act 21.

South Shore Lasers sold me something called "Cavi" and led me to believe it was FDA approved. I got an advertisement at my home and I was interested in "Liposuction" at the time. Their ads say "Lipo" and I assumed it was liposuction. It was not. I went in for a consultation with Anthony Castillo, who admitted he had NO MEDICAL BACKGROUND. He told me everyone there was licensed and convinced me to buy a package of their "body contouring", "cavi-lipo" service. He kept calling me after my consultation to lower the price, for "cash". I agreed to pay some in cash. I saved all my paperwork to show the appropriate authorities.
I was told that Cavi-Lipo was FDA approved, safe and "super effective" on reducing inches on my tummy and waste.
IT WAS ALL A LIE!
I WAS DUPED! I feel so stupid and taken advantage of. During one of my last sessions I was informed by the "technician" (whom I will not mention) doing my treatment that allot of people complain of getting no results, so the owners are used to "dealing with complaints" and will address mine if needed. She also (innocently) let out some very interesting information. She told me that the two owners (husband and wife), Mr. and Mrs. Mike Roemer are former washed up real estate salesman who started a rogue "medi-spa" business! Only theres no "medical" or "spa" services or personel there at all!
I feel absolutely taken advantage of.
I finished all my sessions and gained no results at all. I called Anthony several times and he (amazingly) was always "unavailable". I left messages and even tried calling there asking for the owner Mike Roemer and I was told that "he doesn’t come in often" and would call me when he does. I never did get that call.
That’s when I began doing more digging on South Shore Lasers. I also found out that they have only been open for 2 years and are struggling to stay afloat. I also found out that they have an "investor" named Kim Vantassle who bought the cavi-lipo machine and now gets a piece of the fraud every time someone buys a cavi-lipo package from south shore laser. I then did some more digging and called the Cavi company as a potential buyer of the cavi machine.
THEIR ADS ARE FILLED WITH LIES. IT SAYS "NO NEEDLES" AND ON THE SAME PAGE THEY ADVERTISE BOTOX!
I also found out that they have a rogue Physician "Assistant" who goes there and does injections once per week. The place only has 2 treatment rooms, its a shoe-box. The thought of anyone wanting to get a needle there is horrifying!

I was at South Shore Laser three times on the promise that they would be a participating sponsor for two pediatric fundraisers for The Make a Wish Foundation and Stony Brook Pediatrics Childrens Hospital. Both events were held at Villa Lombardis to raise funds for critically ill children.
The first visit I left all the necessary paperwork. The owner Mike Roemer was to busy to come to the waiting room. I followed up with a phone call and was told they would surely be able to do a gift certificate. When I arrived to pick up the gift certificate the staff had no idea what I was talking about and they lost the documentation.
I called again. The Staff or owner didnt even return my call. It would have been good business to donate a gift certificate or a basket of products to such a wonderful cause. They would have received free advertisement to over 1,800 people and have receved a tax deduction as well.
When I was in the waiting room there was a full blown argument ensuing behind the glass doors. A woman came out upset telling everyone in the waiting room not to waste their time and money.
The staff was so rude, They made it apparent that because I was not their to spend money they couldn't be bothered!

I had a very poor experience at south shore laser in Islip NY. The TRUTH is I was misled into buying an expensive package for "fat reduction" and it didnt work. I spoke to my consultant several times about not getting results and I was told "I had to take responsibility for my body". How dare he! South Shore Laser has to take responsibility for Selling me "fat reduction" and not reducing the fat! Its really clever that they didnt tell me to take responsibility for my body before they took my money!
