Took it in April they didn't do oil change or top fluids off Didn't check antifreeze so early July it cuts off. Engine is messed up Towed it back they said they would correct the issue by doing another oil change and top all fluids big joke They didn't we didn't pull off until we made them do it in front of us Guy writes on paperwork that I drove it without antifreeze and messed up engine but not true. My car has been in tip top shape for all these years. They didn't top the antifreeze or checked it like they said. Took it there to have work done they didn't do and lied and I'm paying the price of it Engine is messed up but not because of me
I went to speedy lube for an oil change. I was told that I need an engine flush. So I asked why they told me because of sludge build up. So I said OK go ahead and clean my motor thinking I'm doing what the tech recommend is good for my truck.The service is complete and I am paying and the tech now tells me I need new brakes but I just had new breakers put on a month before so this tips me off that I am being scammed. So I investigate this oil flush process and come to find out that this can destroy your motor and they never mention this to me. I start researching engine flush and find out that the only way to find oil sludge is to look at the pistons and the never did any thing like that they just told me the oil is dirty because of sludge. I look up in my owners Manuel and there is no maintenance schedule for engine flush. I come to find out that every car manufacturing company recommends against doing this because it can damage the motor and void your warranty. I asked a few mechanics about this and thagain.id that this is bad it will break up sludge and cause seals to leak and if you think about this using common sense if you put a chemical in your motor to break up sludge in five minutes imagine what it does to your rings and gaskets it will eat them up.
I have also found a report done by the news on this scam it is on YouTube under (jiffy lube still scamming customers) and it goes over the whole engine flush scam. I went for an oil change and they sold me a service I did not need and may have caused motor damage. I can hear a small knock in my motor now and I believe it is from this engine flush. I went back and talked to the manager and asked for my money back because I had to go and get my oil changed two more times to make sure all of the chemicals they put in my motor are out. He would not pay me back a single cent. My oil change wound up costing me a 150 dollars. The manager would not explains why the car manufacturer recommends against this service. I will never use speedy lube again
