Step By Step Music Lessons Reviews

  • May 8, 2015

I saw an advertisment on Craigslist for Music Lessons and thought i would contact them to find out if i could have my daughter start guitar lessons. I contacted them and we made a date to come in for a free trial lesson. At the end of the lesson, i contacted them to let them know that i would be interested in starting her. I signed her up and paid for the first month. We had the first lesson that month, then we showed up to the second class to find no one was there. As you can imagine, my alarm went off screaming SCAM! I called all weekend and sent an e-mail to which i did not get a response back till Monday of the next week. I was told that it was Codys' birthday, and they were out of town for the weekend. I e-mailed Cody and said that i could have at least gotten a text or a call with regards to what was going on rather than a disappearing act. I informed him that my daughter was very upset that we got there and there was no one at home for lessons. He apologized and stated that he thought they had notified me the week before.

At the beginning of the second month, they quickly reminded me that payment was required, on or before the first day of lessons. Again i paid and we had the first session. For the second class, i notified them and told them that my daughter was ill. Then the following week, there was a snowstorm. The last week, her teacher Brook was ill and could not have lessons.

When i contacted them to let them know that we would be there for make up classes at the regularly scheduled day and time, i also specified that if this could not be facilitated, to please let me know.

I got to the residence on the day to find again, there was no one there. My daughter had a melt down. And mentally, i kicked myself for allowing this to happen a second time.

I left a post it note on the door and tried to call the business phone number. I was told that it was out of service at the subscribers request. Then i called Codys' personal phone number and left a message asking him to contact me immediately.

By Sunday morning, i still had not gotten a response, so i sent a vey irate email.

By Sunday afternoon, he finally got in contact with me, stating that he sent me a text that morning, to let me know an emergency had come up.

I stated that i received no text and furthermore, the business phone was out of service, so please enlighten me as to how a text was sent on a non working phone.

I requested a refund for the classes missed, since i was no longer wasting my time and gas to get there, only to find no one at home.

He stated that i signed a contract that clearly says that no refunds would be issued.

I requested that he send me proof of the text that he sent that morning to let me know an emergency had come up, and to this hour, still have not received it. I also stated that as a business owner, he could have sent me a follow up text/email or call, just to ensure that i got the message about the emergency.

These people are running a scam. They are only interested in your money and not providing quality service to clients.
