Stop Stealing Photos uncovers the liars.

This site is dedicated to those who think buying a camera is all it takes to be a photographer. They take the easy shortcut of stealing other very hard working and talented photographers work, and posting it to their website/picture gallery/facebook page as their own.

Unfortunately for those 'photographers' that steal, the site documents where the original photos come from, what was on the pretend photogs site, and nothing is slander/libel when you have the facts in hand. Their name will forever be associated on the site that outed them.

The best blog ever

Let set the record straight shall we.

1) Lindsay and Joseph ARE NOT the oweners of the blog. God knows where you get that from.

2) Only information that is publically posted on the net is posted in the blog Yes it is amazing what people freely post on the web these days. It is called investigoogling.

3) Anybody can sue anybody - it doesn't just have to be people from the US. It takes longer but is has happened.

4) Lindsay does not live in Canada.

5) They are not a group of bullies. They help find more stolen work.

6) People who steal work , like for example TERESA BLAU KURS AKA TERESA KURSMAN AKA MARIA TERESA CHONG AKA CHERRYCUT IN NEW YORK, NY (see the link - http://stopstealingphotos.com/teresa-blau-kurs-york-ny/) were outed many times by many people for stolen work and refused to remove the work. The lies that she came up with was unbelievable. She stole so much work, then made up fake accounts, made her social media pages private because more and more people were finding stolen work. There were people who didn't even know about the blog that found stolen work of hers. But you see, mother in law is a big shot lawyer and is trying so hard to keep this off the net. Pity it isn't working. She first claimed that she was 18 and unmarried, then she was 23 and married. Teresa Blau Kurs just kept of lying and lying. She has spun such a web of lies I don't think she actually knows that it true or not.

Many stealers refuse to admit that they have stolen. Blame is shifted from "internet designer" , "intern" , "business partner" the good old one "my account was hacked" hell one stealer even blamed Obama.

Well thought of

I've never posted to stop stealing photos, I never will, and I'm not a member. Over the last few months I came across the website a few times via links from PetaPixel, and other well thought of photography sites, when I read articles about people who have stolen photos. From reading the comments (I've been through a number of them now), the initial reporting of a person or company to the blog generally comes from the photographers who have had work stolen. Sometimes the people who have stolen works are very well known in the photography world - one was once even an ambassador for Nikon (a number of photography news sites quoted Stop Stealing Photos for outing this person a second time).

While they investigate on the internet to see if anything else is out there, it seems that the photographer being 'featured' is always contacted by someone before they publish the allegations. Reading the last few posts, they appear to take a dim view both of publishing anything that isn't already available on the internet, and of people contacting anyone connected with the alleged stealer. I read the fashion one, and a commenter was admonished for adding non-photography related information.

Although I'm not crazy about the swearing I've read on there, and the content of some of the comments leaves something to be desired, a number of photographers who have had their photos stolen comment that they are grateful for help, including the initial contact by the people that post there to let them know their work has been stolen ( sometimes more than one photographer appears to have been stolen from), and being provided links to legal information so that they can decide whether or not to sue. Also, reading the comments, it seems that posts have been deleted when someone comes clean.

I am amazed by the number of people who have been 'outed' who don't come clean, and keep fighting even when they are painted into a corner. I guess that if a person feels that they have been libelled they can sue the commenter/site, but this doesn't appear to have happened.

It's about time

It's about time a blog such as this exsisted. Most times, trying to handle things privately with fauxtographers that steal just doesn't work. It's nice that there is some sort of recourse for anyone who is given the go around by copyright infringers.

Three cheers for http://stopstealingphotos.com for calling out all the liars, cheaters and scammers out there who call themselves photographers.

This site which Joseph Philbert moderates is a venue for bickering. The legal threats and complaints posted to the forum are inappropriate because only the copyright owner of a particular work has the right to sue for infringement. This site appears to mainly be a forum for bickering and trash talking about people. It does not, by any means, provide a legitimate forum for voicing a copyright infringment complaint, etc. And any efforts the site makes to portray itself as a legitimate organization that investigates "outs" and exposes examples of copyright infringement is absurd. The people on this site do not really understand the first amendment and believe they can use it to avoid responsibility for anything they say in a criminal complaint or a lawsuit. Photostealers.com simply appears to be a forum that a bunch of random internet bullies use to harass people and other photographers, most of whom probably do not deserve to be on such a site.

Joseph Philbert owner of Stop Stealing Photos - StopStealingPhotos.com is taking it into his hands to attack and harass people that use others photos that are not even his to begin with. Rather then letting the infringed apon person handle it the way the law sets out, Joseph creats a website designed to bully, harass, defamate charaters and slander reputations on his own personal behalf. He even goes as far as to try to expose peoples phone numbers and personal home addresses on his website endandering their family and provoking other strangers to harass people. The things that he is complaing about are not even things that were taken or stolen from him. Just an idiot, a bully and a loser with nothing better to do then harass people that have nothing to do with him. Joseph Philbert - taking the law into his own hands and breaking the law harassing people at the same time! People have even contacted the police about this person.

Perghaps now he will see what it is like to slander peoples names and personal information on the web. I hope to god this person get criminally charged with harassment. He deserves it.

have a look at his facebook page to get and idea of who this guy is

Lindsay11 appears to have a normal consignment shop type of business. But under the same alias of "Lindsay11," she is an avid contributor to a sleazy internet blog by the name of stopstealingphotos.com

On this blog, she and her colleagues pick out random photographers and members of the fashion world so that they may comb the internet for their professional and personal photos. Once they have obtained these, they defame and harass these people while making ridiculous legal threats about pursuing them for intellectual property infringement.

Let's set the record straight on how the law actually works....Only the holders of the respective pieces of intellectual property may sue others for infringing upon those rights in the U.S.

Lastly, while the goal of Lindsay11's comments to stopstealingphotos.com may ultimately be defamation and harassment for which she thinks there are no repurcussions. She should be admonished that her wonderful home country of Canada has very progressive and far reaching laws that are designed to protect people from internet bullying.
