Sumo Pay LLC Reviews

  • Jul 29, 2014

To start at the beginning, I was contacted by Sumo Pay LLC to do a cash advance on future credit card sales. Being a new business, capital is a big concern. I spoke with sales rep who would get her info from Paul K. directly (I know this because I would hear her call to him if I asked questions she couldn't answer). i agreed to preess throung them. I told her my setup and that I needed 1 terminal and a gateway for website.

Over the course of about a week or so, we conversed. I asked repeatedly how many terminals, just wanting to confirm they knew what I needed. I was told everytime "Paul understands your business, he knows what you need. You're fine." After asking several times I figured ok I'll trust them. When it came to the loan, I spoke with Paul and he did seem to know what he was doing. He explained the terms and answered all of my questions about the loan and processing applications.

Before switching processing, I had no monthly fees and only per items fees, which were within the industry standard. This processing was going to have me paying $280 per month (which was a big concern). Paul explained that the fee was all-inclusive, including monthly fees and per items fees. He said by charging me this per month I would not get the per item charges or any other charges associated with it. They were to reimburse this fee for me for 4 months. After hesitation and deliberation I agreed.

They said that they wanted to fund me, loan for $3000, and wanted me to lie to leasing company and say that I got the equipment before I did claiming they would fund me the next day. I shouldn't have but did. They didn't fund me for another week. Even then it was cut short by $25, not alot but there wasn't a fee to come out of it and I'm expected to pay it back. He said he would give it to me the next week but of course that didn't happen.

When I got the credit card terminals, there were 3 credit card terminals and a pinpad. This was why the monthly fee of $280 was so much. I immediately called Paul and told him this isn't what I wanted and that I wanted it corrected. I called the leasing company to inform them that a change would be coming for my lease only to be told that this was a non-cancelable and non-changable lease. From speaking to them I found out that the $280 fee was only for the credit card terminal lease. All of the processing was seperate and of course he hasn't reimbursed that fee. Basically, everything I was told was a lie to get my business.

It has been 2 months now and he was supposed to have gotten it straightened out. I told him I would not use terminals until it is straightened out. He still hasn't straightened it out. I told him I would leave as is if they funded the full amount I was asking for. He agreed to that but still nothing. I call frequently and I'm told repeatedly that he will call back, or he hasn't come in for the day. I get transferred to an extension that vmail box is full or they flat out hang up on me. In the entire past two months, I have spoken with him maybe 3 times. This is the most unprofessional bunch I have ever worked with. I appreciated the initial loan but was lied to and cheated. I'm not even trying to get out of precessing with them (perhaps I should); I just want to get this resolved in a fair way. He made promises and so far he's batting close to zero.
