I have had an awful expereince with Fenwake Corporation, (dba Sunrise Student loan Services). I was promised help to stop my wage garnishment, and tax offset, due to default student loans. They informed me that the entire process takes 60-90 days to complete, and after that point, my wages garnishment will stop, and my tax refunds will not be offset. I paid this company almost $300 for this service.
I was lied to, and misled many times. I was told many times that they would set reminders to contact me back at certain dates, and I never received calls back. I left message after message, and did not receive calls back. AWFUL customer service, AWFUL busniess ethics, and AWFUL communication.
This company preys on people in bad situations, and takes their money, and offers nothing in return but undue stress. I was promised a 100% money back guarantee if they cannot help me and my situation, and after 6 months of undue stress, lies and being misled, I requested the refund, only to be denied. I then had the "Managing Partner" email me, telling me that he had reviewed my account, and gave me a timeline of events that had happened with my account, proving that they cannot help me, but still, they refuse to provide me with a refund.
Stay away from thsi company!!! I know there are others out there in the same situation as me, and I am more than willing to start a class-action lawsuit against this predatory company. Feel free to get in touch with me.

How I found out that they did not file it was when I checked my credit report and no change was seen. I called the loan company that originally had my loan and they told me that it was initially started but Sunrise Student Loan Services did not remit the documents on time and that my loan went back to being defaulted once again. So now I am looking to get a refund from these people. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

The employee's of this company showed up for work on 4/11/14 only to find out they were shutting down due to a massive issue with payroll and their merchant and that they would not be paid their wages. Not only were the trusting customers betrayed, the employees were as well. I hope you and every other "client" of Sunrise success in getting a refund.

I signed up with Sunrise Student Loan Services on March 7, 2014, for them to lower my student loan payments. I made two installment payments of $166.63 each and have not received any of the promised material. I have been trying to reach someone at 855-803-1537 for the last two days, and all I get is ""THANK YOU FOR CALLING, PLEASE CONTINUE TO HOLD FOR THE NEXT AVAILABLE AGENT"" for 2 HOURS straight! At this point, I want my money back and want to stop payment of the last $166.33 for April 11, 2014.
I first contacted Sunrise Student Loan Services (I thought I was calling NextStudent). After being on hold for what seemed like forever I was connected with Sam Blackshear. At the time (January 2014) I was looking for a Private Loan Consolidation company. He told me about their program and I told him no. Because it wasn't what I needed. After this, he pursused me. He called me and left me numerous voicemails trying to get me to consolidate my Federal loans. This went on for about a month. At that time I received a letter from NelNet saying that I defaulted on a loan that I thought was in defferemnt (I moved 5 times in 3 years so I was unaware of it's current state). They were demanding a $800 payment on top of all of the other loans I was paying - I could not afford that. I called Sam back (February). He told me that they could garnish my wages, and take my tax return. I signed up with them that day. I agreed to pay my processing fee $400 in installments. It was paid ACH though my bank. Once the full fee was paid - he said I would receive a call from them to set up monthly payments.
I finished paying this fee in March. Two weeks went by and I heard nothing. I called Sam back - he connected me with the Processing department Lila Mardis. She told me that they hadn't started my application because I didn't send in my paperwork. I sent the paperwork weeks ago when I received it, in the envelope that was included. It was sent to the US Department of Education in Kentucky. I even took a photo of it and put it on my Instagram because I was proud that I was consolidating my loans. I resent my paperwork to Arizona, certified I might add. Lila said they had recieved them. She said it would be another two weeks to get this filed. It was the start of April so she urged me to not file my taxes because they could still take the refund, instead I should file an extension. This all sounded very legitamate to me.
Today is May 2, 2014. I have been trying to get in contact with Lila and Sam and ANYONE at Sunrise Student Loan Services but I have not been able to. I have no idea if my loans are consolidated. I have to follow up with Nelnet and Sallie Mae and my other lenders myself - something I was trying to avoid. I am worse for wear, and would like my $499 back! They have not helped me. They scammed me. And they have all of my personal information. It's sad that we are put in this situation and even worse that this company and others prey on the desperate need to consolidate FEDERAL STUDENT LOANS. THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!!
I have called every extension from 401 - 432 and left a message on EVERY SINGLE VOICEMAIL I could. No one has returned my call. Mind you every extension rings once and then goes to voicemail. Also I emailed Lila and Sam. Neither replied. Sunrise Student Loan Services facebook page has been taken down - although their linkedin and twitter are still intact although there have been no updates recently. According to the Terms and Conditions that I agreed to (I saved a copy)... Sunrise Student Loan Services DID NOT HELP ME. And I am DEMANDING A FULL REFUND.

I called this company in October of 2013, and after paying an initial large payment, was told that they would work with sallie mae in helping me get back into goodstanding. They have done NOTHING, except as Ive said taken my money and ran; it is now late April 2014.
I even had a tax lien that they said they could me resolve. As tax season drew closer, I attempted and failed several times to get in contact with ANYONE at sunrise. The phone would simply ring and ring for hours, and often times, my cell phone's battery would go ""dead"" from holding on the line for +4hrs! They even advised me (back when I initally talked to them) not to file my taxes until I got a response from sallie mae about the tax lien being removed, as a result of them handlimg what they said they'd do, as now, a failed and costly attempt in convincing me that they have my interest at heart.
Its now clearly after April 15th, Sallie Mae has heard NOTHING from sunrise student services, and I have had to file an extension just so that I wont receive a hefty penalty from the IRS. In a nutshell, if youre reading this and thinking about giving them one cent of your hard earned money, DONT!!!! Call whomever your debtor is and see if you can work something out with them. By no means, would I ever recommend contacting this company. Theyre nothing but a scam and will leave you high and dry the minite they recive your money.
