Same thing happened to me that others have reported.

"Free" Trial subscriptions on four separate magazines were extended to paid subscriptions after the trial period via unauthorized charges to my credit card. No email or hardcopy correspondence was sent to me in advance to provide the opportunity to cancel the subscriptions.

Subscription prices charged were two to three times the market of of the subscription period offered. Customer Service agent was rude and belligerent when I call to have teh charges reversed and teh subscriptions cancelled. He refused to cancel the subscription. Finally relented but said I would have to pay for the magazines I already recieved. The emount quoted was more than the newstand price.

The magazines continued to come and the promised credit never materialized. I finally found the online site, www.magcustomerservice.com and on 03/10/2015 submitted cancellations notices for each magazine. I also went online to each magazines website and processed a cancellation notice. I will amend this report if and when I ever receive a proper credit to my credit card.

In November 2012, I ordered a magazine entitled In Style, owned by Time and distributed by the Synapse Group, Inc., doing business as magcustomerservice.com. According to their records, it was cancelled and I have NOT been receiving it for the last year at the very least. Then, their records claim that there is a renewal date of November 11, 2014 and they charged my bank account for $21 on November 10, 2014, sneaking it in without notifying me via email. I then had to go through a telephone robot to get the re-bill cancelled, receiving only $17.77.

It is FRAUDULENT for them to have kept my account information and renewed a magazine without my request or permission two years after it was ordered, when this information should have been deleted. I am now concerned that they billed me for 2013, again sneaking it in without my request or authorization. I have no record of small print saying that they were going to do this and of course they should NOT have done this. I would recommend anyone who has received magazines from this service to file small claims court claims as well as fraud claims with the Attorney General of Connecticut.

No refund option offered

I called to cancel my subscription to 3 magazines right away, the canned massage give you the run around. They only offer to cancel right away if you continue to receive the magazine with a another cancelation request at after 10 more magazines are sent free. I had to keep getting the magazines until my subscriptions ran out 10 months later. No refund in site. They have continue to bill me after the first year without my permission.
