Josh Bartel was the case manager I had. He kept constant contact with me always stating "everything is moving forward to a positive resolution you will be satisfied with". One month before my last payment (I paid as agreed), he congradulated me saying "Congradulations, we have a resolution. Check your inbox."
When I check my inbox, I actually gasped. The tax debt went from $65K to $99.8K. The IRS said I made $461K in 2009, my job was installing "TV, Phone, & Internet service". I lost my job of 23 years as an engineer. I was on the verge of bankruptcy, and was losing my house to foreclosure. I was making less than a fifth of what I use to make, my mortgage was more than my monthly income.
I called Josh back, he continued to congradulate me. After a couple of hours of trying to get an explaianation, the customer service reps would send my calls to his voice mail. They eventually called me back when I refused to give them the last payment. They refered me their "Gold Standard Team" or something of that nature, even then it was only a ploy to retrieve the final payment. I never agreed to the terms, nor signed any other documents including a new power of attorney, or pay authorization, but Josh filed the unsigned agreement with the IRS anyway. As of May 2015, I'm still dealing with this issue.
By the way, I paid $5600.00 for this brutal hosing.
Oh where do I begin. in Nov 2013 I had a serious issue owing the IRS approximately $46,500 in unpaid taxes and had a letter that threatened wage garnishment, Im not versed in tax law and was scared to death. I didnt have the money to pay the the IRS back. I looked up help and came across a website that took me to Tax Defense Network. I called and after answering some queations I was transferred to Jimmy Hutchinson. Jimmy Hutchinson at first stated that he was experienced with my sort of tax issue. He stated that they would get a "Federal Judge" to "Evoke my rights". In hindsight I should have known that this was complete bullshit but I was so focused on my problem I didnt realize I was being scammed.
He charged me $5,450 for attorney fees to take my case and 4 weeks went by with NOTHING done for me. I did receive a call in the beginning BEFORE my money was taken but afterwards......crickets. After repeated calls with a host of excuses I finally became fed up and decided to call the IRS myself. I explained my situation to them and provided financial documents shwoing what I could afford to pay and ended up taking care of this myself.
I called to immediately ask for a refund and was transferred to a snide, rude weasel of a man named Lee Singleton. He beraded me and actually had the balls to attempt to defend his position as if I was doing something wrong. He actually tried to state that tax Defnse Network did something for me THEY DID NOT!!!
To this day I only received a partial refund because they forced me to sign a lame ass release so they could skate away with the rest of my money. These people are crooks and you could do ALL of this on your own. You dont need to hire anyone to help you with your tax debt, Take your time, call the IRS and explain that you want to take care of it and they will help you. DONT HIRE TAX DEFENSE NETWORK EVER! They are crooks.

I HIRED TAX DEFENSE NETWORK AND WAS OVER PROMISED EVERYTHING BY A LONG SHOT. I WAS UPSET AND WANTED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER ABOUT THIS. MY REP SENT ME TO AMANDA FRONCKOSKI WHO WAS SUPPOSSED TO SEE THINGS EQUALLY. INSTEAD SHE YELLED AT ME AND SAYS IT MY FAULT I OWE TAXES. I TOLD HER I LOST MY JOB AND I COULDN'T PAY THEM, SHE TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD FIND A NEW JOB OR GET AN EDUCATION. I DON'T APPRECIATE BEING TALKED TO LIKE THIS. IF THIS IS THE COMPANY'S MANAGER, I PRAY FOR THIER CHILDERN. SHE IS A EVIL WOMEN THAT SPITS VENOM.
