Hired this company in 2013 because they seemed reputable...to file 2 years worth of returns for my husband. We were married in 2011 and he ended up getting transferred to North Dakota for work. Afraid he would make too much money in oil country...he drug his feet on filling his returns. Partly, because he hadn't filed his 2010 return. I tend to walk the line. So, I filed a tax return in 2011...married filing separately. When Tel Debt was hired, I told them I had already filed for 2011. All I needed them to do, was to file his 2010 and 2011 returns.
It should go without saying that his 2011 should have been filed as married filing separately, but it wasn't. However, I DID tell them I had already filed a return. Yet, they filed a married filing jointly return for him anyway. Tax pro's should know better, right? Now my husband and I are up to our necks in tax drama. Complete with threats of levies from state and government levels. We owe close to $10,000 thanks to the incompetence of this company. I have tried repeatedly to contact them, to obtain a copy of my husband's return, so that I can file an amended return for that year...no such luck. Sadly, I think I'd have better luck playing the lottery.
