Teo advertised on Craigslist. He told us he was a contractors and a God following man. He gave us 2 references. He said he could remodel our home by changing the doors, adding casing, crown molding and baseboard through out the house, and changing the carpet to hardwood floor. He came to the meeting with his son and showed us several photos of what he claimed was his work.
He asked for a $1500 deposit, which we gave to him. The following day he said he needed $700 more dollars for material. I was hesitant to give him additional money but he convinced me to give him the money so I did. He always spoke of how religious he was and portrayed himself me be a Jesus following man. I must admit, this made me trust him.
He came to the house with workers and worked one full day. After lunch he reeked of liquor/alcohol. After his day of demo-ing the home, we realized our house was a hazard. He left nails exposed on the stairs and I cut my ankle on the nails. Needles to say I let that go.
The following day he did not return. I called and all my calls went to voicemail. I ended up getting a hold of him and he promised he was coming back. He never did. Then we realized he stole cash and jewelry from our home. He also stole the contract we had signed with him. Lucky for us we took a photo of the contract.
We filed a police report but have not had any of our money or items returned.
