This Company did not completely pack our house. We had to call them to return and pick up furniture they left behind. Our contract was a "not-to-exceed" contract based on an estimated weight of 10,000 lbs. The owner told us the trailer would be weighed empty before pick-up and weighed again full and we would receive a credit for anything under 10,000/lbs. We found out the trailer was not weighed either time.
When we asked the owner about it, he said that was because he gave us a "not-to-exceed" contract. This was a contradiction to the agreement. The agreed payment method was $3K cash/check upon pick-up. Balance to be paid via credit card upon delivery. We called the owner the night before delivery to confirm and were told he wouldn't send the trailer up unless he knew we had the cash balance! We were at odds. It was evening, and we did not believe there was a way to get release of funds authorized by the a.m. The owner had the nerve to ask us why everytime he talked to us there was a problem! He was holding our furniture randsom for cash!
When our furniture was delivered, the driver was the same as the pick-up driver. We told him our story and he said the owner ALWAYS tells him to weigh the trailer empty. In this case he was told not to. He also told us he always gets a credit card # on the delivery end and calls it into the owner who runs the card. I believe this company is in financial trouble and would not recommend using them.

I spoke to Mark Terry before our move and he gave us a not to exceed extimate, said they would weight the truck before and after loading then he would charge us. Mark charged my credit card for the whole amount before the move, he driver showed up late and wanted us to call around to find help for him. He said the boss had neglected to hire anybody to help him! Mark Terry has not returned my phone calls or emails......Avoid this place, he will rip you off!!!!

Mark Terry Moving and Storage is the absolute best moving and storage company I've ever dealt with. Their people are honest, professional, courteous, and their rates are very competitive. I'm a repeat customer, having used them three times before, and I'll be using them again at the end of the month when I move to the South Coast Metro area. I've personally referred both my friends and business associates to them for their own moving and storage needs, and all have been immensely pleased with both Mark's professionalism and that of his employees. I've also been using their facilities for storage for almost three years and nothing has ever gone missing, been damaged, or been tampered with in any way. I would never consider storage my property with anyone else. I trust them absolutely and you can, too.
Terry Moving cannot be trusted to move personal belongings. During a local move in the Orange County, CA area I was the victim of Grand Theft and Identity Theft(credit card) by a Terry Moving employee. Valuable jewelry including, but not limited to, a diamond/gold watch, bracelet, Montblanc pen were stolen from what I thought was a "safe and secure"' area in my home. As if that weren't enough, when I received my credit card statement the following month, I found out that a credit card was also stolen during the move. Upon discovering the loss, I contacted Mark Terry who defended his employees and even suggested I "misplaced" the items and they would later turn up. When I asked for the insurance information to submit a claim for loss, Mark Terry was NOT cooperative at all. He swore, was verbally abusive, threatened me and refused to give me the name of his insurance company. As a result I contacted the Public Utilities Commission(PUC) who helped me obtain the insurance information. Contacting the insurer turned out to be a waste of time. The insurance company refused to allow me to file a claim for damages because I had a filed a police report for Grand Theft and because I was disputing the charges. Just one more reason not to use Terry Moving and just another excuse by his paid thugs. In addition to the loss of valuables, I was overcharged by Mark Terry. I was also lied to by Mark Terry about the cost of the move. Prior to the move, when I scheduled the appt., I was given a price, based on weight, items, etc. After the move was completed the price nearly doubled and the movers held my items hostage until I paid. When I called Mark Terry to dispute it he stated, "I had to add another guy whose other move job got cancelled and had to put him somewhere". More misrepresentation and lies by Mark Terry.
After determing the value of all items stolen I filed a police report. The police officer deemed it to be "Grand Theft" due to the content and value of the items. The police also determined that my credit card which was stolen during the move was used by one of the Terry movers and his girlfriend to purchase items at Target, Walmart, gas stations and Denny Restaurant's throughout the state of California.......the same territory and route Terry Moving uses for business. Unfortunately, the mover that stole the credit card uses several aliases(per the police and a private detective) and has been difficult to capture. It is now believed he may be in prison AGAIN for another charge relating to something else.
The biggest mistake of my life was hiring Terry Moving and Mark Terry. He lies, employs day laborers, ex-convicts with multiple alias and has NO regard for personal belongings. It's simply another exciting opportunity to steal.
If you value your personal belonings DO NOT use Terry Moving. Recovery for loss is impossible.

Mark Terry is manipulative and deceptive, He came in pretending he was a Christian to get my business. I found him to do anything to get you hooked. The move was a disaster, He quoted me one price then when he got to my new home, he up the price and then held my furniture hostage in the truck and had his crew drive off with it, until I came up with some money. I only allowed what the contract said in my budget.
My funiture was not handled in professional manner it was damaged and I had an estimate of $1900 in repairs and his so called insurance only paid $400. His people are not professionl they do not know what they are doing or care. My brand new washer and dryer someone stepped on them leaving them dented. The $400 won't even cover the washer and dryer repairs. My fairly new sofa with an oak trim was gouged out with a big hole, my computer desk they drug the hutch across it and scaped the dickens out of it.
My file cabinates I can't even open the drawers anymore to access my files I will have to destroy it to get my files out, this is just some of the items. So if you value you possessions don't go with this company and it may seem like a good estimate at the time but it the end it will cost you. I am disable and I don't have money to repair or replace my furniture. I had Bekins that move me across the country a couple times and I had no damage what so ever. The difference Professionalism and ethics and caring. Don't believe his "A+" rating with Better Business Bureau, I heard they pay for that rating.

Mark Terry is a lying, cheating, stealing bastard. My family hired his company to move our 5 bedroom house and charged us the day of the quote only to later have his driver add more "fees". Not to mention this occurred after we called him to tell him a few of our items had been damaged and to report things missing. Hmmm....is this his way of having US pay for our damaged missing items?!?! When I called him back to ask about all of these "new" fees he felt the need to be verbally abusive and told me if I didnt pay then he would have his workers stop unloading and would hold our remaining belongings. Who does this to people?!?! And as for our damaged/missing items, he said we would get 60 cents per pound per article!!!!! What am I suppose to do with that?? wipe my a**?? Do not use Mark Terry's moving company unless you want to take one up the butt!
