I live in a town close to the Auto Shop on Rt 94 in Blairstown, NJ 07825. I pass this place going to and from work. I stopped the other day to look at a car that the Auto Shop had advertised out front as being for sale. It was a black Acura.
I was looking for a car for my sister and the Acura are known to be pretty good cars. This car was a mess.......underneath was a big puddle of oil and you can see a drip about every 10 seconds!! There was an extensive amount of rust underneath. I copied the vin number and ran a history report and found that this car had been in two serious accidents!!
Needless to say, I would never consider this junk car for my sister. After doing a little asking around, I found out that the Auto Shop not only has a horrible reputation for selling junk cars, but they are UNLICENSED as a used car dealer. I don't know how the Blairstown Township allows them to illegally sell cars, but I did report them to the DMV in Trenton and I was told they would send an investigator there soon. They said if they saw cars being sold on the premises that they would fine them and they could lose their repair license if they kept it up.
Who would ever think of bringing their car there for service when they are selling and misreprensenting junk cars for sale? I think these people are scam artists and I hope the Trenton DMV catches them in the act.

I travel through Blairstown on Rt 94 and have had the occassion to stop to look at a couple of cars offered for sale by THE AUTO SHOP. I was in need of a small pick up truck and now a small car.
The first car I stopped to look at seemed to look decent from the road, but when I got close and examined it carefully I could see that this car was in pretty sad shape. Looking underneath there was a big puddle of oil. Also while looking underneath it actully had RUST HOLES IN THE FRAME that were shoddly patched up and fresh, sticky undercoat was sprayed over the patched holes!! I couldn't imagine how a business could sell such junk and try to scam people.
The other day I stopped to look at a Subaru Baja, silver in color. It had ""4 sale"" signs on it and the day-glo letters on the windshield like the dealers use. When I got up to the car there was a big rot hole in the hood!! How does a car get a rot hole in the hood? Was this thing under water? Looking underneath it had rot all underneath the car. It also had holes under there. It was Sunday and the AUTO SHOP was closed. I called the number on the 4 sale sign ( must be the AUTO SHOP'S after hours number) and asked the person ( a male ) why the sign said ""FOR SALE AS IS"". I thought perhaps it had to do with the rot holes........but no, he told me it had ""TYPICAL SUBARU PISTON SLAP, BUT IT'S NO BIG DEAL"". Now listen, I'm no mechanic but no piston slap (NOISE IN THE MOTOR) is ""typical"". THE MOTOR IS SHOT!!
These people at the AUTO SHOP and/or the person that is their used car salesman are obviously scam artists preying on the public. BEWARE OF THE AUTO SHOP. How can you even THINK of bringing your car there for any kind of service whern they sell these JUNK cars and misrepresent the cars to the public. RUN AWAY FROM THE AUTO SHOP IN BLAIRSTOWN, NJ 07825. HOW CAN YOU TRUST THEM?
