International Nurses Association Scam

I received a call from The International Nurses Association by a woman named Donna Farrise, call back number 844-698-7372 x 2256. After 20 minutes of sweet talk about my career and my accomplishments, she finally proceeded to tell me that I could join for $785.00. My answer was, "for what"? What am I getting for my $785.00? She reeled off a couple of things, like getting mentioned in a news letter, something about google and getting into some other news thing that made no sense. I can't imagine what possibly could be worth $785.00 PLUS a monthly fee. When I started seriously questioning her about this, miraculously the prices started coming down. From $785.00 to $358.00. I questioned that and then she made me another offer of just $$ per month. The last offer she gave me was for $44.00 per month and that she had held the press for me and I needed to tell her right away. She even said I was chosen in my area to be part of this great newsletter. I laughed and said, "anyone is chosen if they give you $700.00". Such a scam! I am so disappointed in this. Using the healthcare industry to scam honest, hard, and may I repeat hard working individuals that do not get paid what they are worth. They almost got me so please do not give these people your credit card information. I suggest if you want the recognition go to the state level. The organizations that give you your license. You'll be safe that way. Or better yet, start your own newsletter in your community recognizing great accomplishment of local hard working people.

Same thing

I received a call today from Paula Mirabella. She started me at the diamond package for $789 and then offered the platinum package for $589. When I told her that was a lot of money and what the difference was, she offered me a gold package at $389 and told me this was a standard rate. I asked her to let me investigate the differences and she told me she really couldn't do that because nothing would ever get to publication. I told her to go ahead and publish without me. I thought I was getting a recognition for what I have accomplished in healthcare and now I learn it's nothing more than a money grab.

I received a letter from the International Nurses Association previously which never mentioned anything about money (which I still have) and it clearly states that there is no fee for membership. I received a call from a person in New York on November 6th, they sweet talk and don't mention anything about money until the end, I spent 45 minutes with this lady! (But she seemed nice.. or that was part of the scam, not sure.) Either way I gave out my credit card even though I was hesitant and she wouldn't even email me any information (which I found strange by the way). And now the charge ($218.95) is currently charged to my credit card with me trying to dispute it and it being put back on as this organization has provided some info to my credit card company. Tried calling the person i spoke to and left a voice mail to return my call. No call received yet. Tried to cancel my "membership" from another representative and she just states that all memberships are final. It hadn't even been 24 hours at the time. Now yesterday (January 13th, 2014) I get a call and get scammed out of another $189 fom a John Green (who i called by the way and have not received a call from). I called my credit card company and they connected me to membership services who are not willing to refund me the entire amount. The guy never mentioned to me directly that there is going to be a charge on my credit card for this "book" that will come out this year.

Sweet Talking...Endless Harrassment

I found a link on Facebook for joining the International Nurses Association (INA) and I filled out an application to be a free member of the group. I then started receiving calls from a lady in New York by the name of Susan Deacon, who hounded me endlessly by email and phone over several months.

She gave me the same pitch, asking about my career history and interests and telling me that based on this information, she felt confident in my professional attributes and wanted to honor me into the Worldwide Leaders of Healthcare for my region.

Then came the membership haggles, the "Diamond" or "Silver" packages, haggling downward at my questioning of such. I stated that I was under the impression that this was a free membership into a nursing community, to network and share experiences. She then stated the basic monthly dues membership of $33/month, and finally into a "free" membership where you would be mentioned online, but not in the leadership publication. What a croc!

At first, I was wooed by all the hype of "honoring you for your outstanding nursing practice", luckily I had given her my credit card that was discontinued, so she wasn't able to charge it. I had soon after caught on to her spamming harrassment and "urgency" that this so-called publication honoring me needed to be verified "right NOW". After several months of trying to get her off my back, I spoke with her this week, and she started asking me the questions over again about my nursing history and accomplishments, as if I hadn't already divulged that information months prior. I told her, "I am no longer interested, please stop harrassing me. Lady, I just wanted a genuine place to join in nursing fellowship across international borders to gain perspective and information share."

She finally put a free membership through for me, but I can't trust this site. I don't know if there is an honest "INA", but whatever this lady and the other scammers from New York are a part of, I don't want to ever be involved with. Please, if anyone receives a call from someone, especially if they say in NY, and they start asking questions about your nursing practice to honor you in this publication, be wary. Especially when they get to the money part, as mentioned above, these "membership" packages are outrageous! From an RN BN of 13 years in Atlantic Canada.

scam

I am so glad I found this site. I just received a letter recently that offered me an 'award' for my achievements - no cost to me. It seemed odd, but I did do some work for the International Asso of Nurses in the past (a LEGITIMATE organization) so was considering answering. The true organization must be horrified. And it is terrible that these people are taking advantage of such a great group of professionals. Sure wish there was something that could be done about it.

SCAM

I received the same letter April 2017. It actually looked authentic and I even considered responding. My military Commander advised that this was a scam and recommended to refrain from entering any data into this web-site. Why is this being allowed to occur?
