The Mortgage Man Reviews

  • Jan 7, 2015

I met with Kelvin Watson on 5/14/13 in reference to getting assistance in modifying my mortgage. I was drawn to this company due to Mr. Watson being interviewed on he Bobby Hurd Show (a gospel program). Mr. Watson informed me that he was able to help with my situation and the cost to work on my secondary loan was $1200.00. I paid $400.00 in cash on that day. Because I had not heard anything from Mr. Watson, I contacted him on 5/22/13. At that time he informed me that he did not start working until the full amount was paid, therefore, I sent him a check for $800.00. After sending the final payment, I did not hear anything from Mr. Watson, I called and left messages but nothing. I then did a search on Mr. Watson and found that he was in the Dekalb Co. Jail. I wrote him and told him that I wanted my money back. Mr. Watson responded apologizing and stating that he was expected to be released in August 2013 and that my money would be refunded. August came, Mr. Watson was released and there was absolutely no contact.

Low and behold (this was the end of October 2014), one Sunday evening, I had the TV on the Reggie Gay Show(a gospel program)and thought I heard something about the Mortgage Repair Man. The advertisement came on and to my suprise it was Mr. Watson. I goggled the site that he provided and found that his business was operating in a new location. I sent a certified letter to the business address; the letter was returned the 1st of November as undeliverable).

I then faxed a letter to Mr. Watson informing him of my seeing his advertisement and sending the certified letter. Mr. Watson was not apologetic at all, and responded stating that he never would have contacted me because he no long had my contact information, etc.

On November 13, 2014, I signed and returned the Withdrawal Letter sent to me by Mr. Watson so that I could receive my refund. On November 17, 2014, Mr. Watson contacted me (via fax) stating that he needed my address to send the refund . The refund withdrawal letter stated that I would receive my refund within 30 days. It is now almost three months and I have received absolutely nothing.

Based on the website this business have several locations. Also, with Mr. Watson's incarceration and his stating that he no longer had my contact information, Ihave to believe that there are others who have had this same experience. I feel that this company uses the gospel programs and churches as supporters as a means to draw trusting customers. Customers like myself who felt that this had to be a legitimate business with the advertising being on a Gospel Station.
