Thousand Trails has made changes to park rules that violate the contracts of all tenters. Tenters will no longer be allowed to stay more than 1 week in any park and are currently being kicked out of campgrounds before their reservations have ended. These tenters have contracts that they have paid anywhere from $545 to several thousands of dollars for to stay in the parks for 14-21 days at a time. Contracts take precedence over rules which is clearly stated in them and I believe is correct under the law even without it being mentioned in the contract. However, park managers have started kicking them out anyway at the direction of corporate. Their contracts have become worthless due to this unilateral rules change.

Sales people have known about this change coming yet continued to sell Elite memberships and zone passes to tenters.

In 2004 we signed a Membership Agreement with Thousand Trails and paid cash the Sum of US$ 2.995.00, During the last 10 years we tried to visit several Thousand Trail Parks but in some simply it was impossible to get in and the once we visited we had to pay extra for 50Amp Electricity or an extra amount for the Side. In many Camps like Palm Springs the very few sites available where to small or narrow and our 38" Motorhome would not fit. In 2013 I was Hospitalized and was no more able to Drive a Motorhome and we cancelled our Permit with ADP and the Insurance and the Motorhone is Garaged besides our Home. In 2014 we started to receive Menacing Phone Calls. In order to show Goodwill, we sent a Check of US$ 100.00 and stating that we would pay 2014 Mothly but we got emails telling us that they know we have sufficient money with our Creditcards and Banks to pay in full. For us, this was an Blatant Invasion of Privacy. Also in the emails they state we owe US$1181.12 on the Phone when my wife alled, Virginia one of the Thousand Trails Office, stated we owe US$ 2.500.OO In fact this Lady had no Education or Manners and simply trows dawn the Phone. To us it sounds like they are paid by the amount they get a Comission and certainly US$100.OO did not make them happy. Also we phoned once at the end of February and where told we should send an Email Cancelling our Membership, but surprise they said they never received the Email, so we wrote a Letter, stating all of above, but also this letter was not acknowledged.

What motsly angers us is the INVASION OF PRIVACY and the Menacing,Harasing Phone Calls. Also we learned from an Employee at Thousand Trails, that our Membership Agreemen ender at the end of 2007.

We know that there are several Members with the idential Problem. I would apreciate to hear from them, so in union we could stop all this Harassment and Intimidation

I M LOOKING TO JOIN A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT.

GOOD FRIENDS OF OUR PURCHASED THIS MEMBERSHIP IN LIKE 87 AND PAID SOMEWHERE AROUND $13,000.00. t\THAT WAS A LOT OF MONEY BACK THEN. WHEN THEY PASSED AWAY IN 2005 WE HAD THE CHOICE OF TAKING OVER THE ""LIFETIME"" MEMBERSHIP. WE DID FOR $750.00 TRANSFER FEE. WE USED IT ONE TIME AND REALISED WE WERNT GOING TO USE IT(HUSBANDS HEALTH GOT REALLY BAD) SO STARTED LISTING FOR SALE. WELL THEY HAD DECLINED IN PRICE SO MUCH WE WERE DOWN TO $2995.00.

I TRIED TO GET THE INFORMATION OF EXACTLY WHAT IT CONTAINED LIKE WHICH PARKS, PRICE, STAY, ETC. ONLY TO HAVE NOTHING SENT TO ME. i REQUESTED IT SO MANY TIMES. CALLING THEN EMAILING. THEY KEPT SAYING THEY WOULD SEND SOMETHING BUT NEVER DID. WE WERE SHORT ON MONEY ONE YEAR AND I CALLED. THEY LADY SAID THERE ARE SOME MEMEBERSHIPS THAT ARE PUT ON HOLD FOR YEARLY DUES ( WHICH HAD ALMOST DOUBLE IN PRICE) BUT OF COURSE EVEN THOUGH THIS MEMBERSHIP WAS AN VERY HIGH DOLLAR AMOUNT THE HOLD DIDN'T INCLUDE OURS.

CALLED STILL WAITING FOR INFORMATION. IN THE MEAN TIME I LOST TWO SALES BECAUSE I COULDN'T EVEN EXPLAIN WHAT THIS MEMBERSHIP INCLUDED. ALL I WANTED WAS PAPERWORK SO I COULD TELL THE BUYERS WHAT IT WAS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. THE PEOPLE WHO ANSWER THE PHONE ARE VERY RUDE AND ACT LIKE OH WELL. I AM SO FRUSTRATED.

NOW THEY HAVE SENT IT TO COLLECTIONS( $1158.00) AND THE LADY THERE WAS VERY COLD AND RUDE. I ASK IF SHE HAD READ RIPPOFF AND SHE SAID NO THEY DON'T GO ON THOSE SITES. THE PEOPLE WHO GO ON TEHERE ARE THE ONES WHO DON'T PAY THERE FEES. WELL THATS TRUE ABOUT ME I WON'T PAY THEM A DIME MORE WHEN I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I OWN IF ANYTHING).

WE VISIT FAMILY IN CALIF AND THERE IS A THOUSAND TRAILS AND IT IS SO RUN DOWN I WOULDN'T WANT TO STAY THERE.

AND YES WE WERE TOLD IT WAS A MEMBERSHIP ONLY BUT DON'T HAVE PAPERWORK SO CAN'T CONFIRM IT.

i NOW HAVE ANOTHER GUY WHO WANTS TO BUY IT (FOR THE AMOUNT WE OWE PLUS TRANSFER FEE) BUT I HAVE 2 PROBLEMS

1. I DON;T KNOW WHAT IT IS OR INVOLVES

2. I DON'T WANT TO PUT SOMEONE ELSE THROUGH WHAT WE HAVE GONE THROUGH OR WHAT THOUSAND TRAILS/NACO/LEASURETIME IS DOING.

Works if you go by their rules...

We found that the only way to get details on the used membership we bought, was to call TT customer service directly. If you give your would- be buyer the membership # and name on the memership, they can call and find out directly from TT what is included. No - they don't have written info, and that is a pain - but for the savings of buying used, it was worth it to us. And because we called direct, we knew we weren't being scammed. Just FYI - if you owe back dues, that will probably affect your ability to sell, until that is resolved.

We were full-time for 2 years, and used TT parks non-stop with our used Elite membership we bought. We followed all their posted rules, and talked to customer service until we understood our membership (NOTE - every TT membership is different - no two are alike; there is no 'standard' - the ONLY way to know what yours specifically covers, is to call with the membership#, and a pen and paper and talk to them. Get the name of the person you talked to, and note when and what time you called, for your records, and if you need to call back). We liked the program, and camped all around the eastern US. Some parks nicer than others, but all acceptable. Best of luck!

We have been members of Outdoor World since 1998 and unfortunately the company has sold and been renamed a few times. When we signed up we had over 300 camp sites to choose from at the park lake and Shore located near Cape May, which is our home park, now it contains 63 camp sites...all the rest are permanet or seasonal sites. I think it is terrible that they won't honor freezing of the dues, which was a selling factor for us, that once you reached a senior age dues would be frozen and also we used to be able to camp 14 days ..leave camp for 7 days and then come back for 14 more all summer long, not now...we are called transits because we do not have a permanet or seasonal site. I didn't spend thousands to own a site. We wanted to be able to enjoy camping with our family not own a campsite. What we were sold and are given now are 2 different things. I wish ALL Outdoor World members would get together and bring a civil suit against this company. It is not fair when we paid the cost back in the day and pay high cost maintenence fees every year and then we can't get a site where we originally signed up and we are told we can only stay there twice a season...this is breech of contract. This is not fair how we are being treated. We are about to cancel our membership entirely and this is what they are hoping we do.

BELOW IS A LETTER SENT TO ELS CORPORATE IN ATTEMPTS TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. AT THIS TIME THE ISSUE IS STILL UNRESOLVED AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED.

This report is in reference to (2) citations written by Ranger Ric Silvera at Thousand Trails Orlando Resort. The alleged violations of rules were as follows: 1. The first "ticket" violation was given for having a 10' x 20' MaxAP Canopy with sidewall enclosures made by ShelterLogic (photo evidence A). 2. The second violation was given the following day for having duct tape on the black water tank of our RV to secure it better. It is important to note that the tank valve stays closed until time to empty. The dispute in both cases is that no violation of rule took place and BOTH tickets were issued without justification provided by any understood rule or expectation. Here is a summary of the entire complaint.

Ranger Ric told other guests at the pool area that he intended to issue us a ticket for the tent when he returned from leave, but failed to provide us any foresight that the tent was unacceptable or that it needed to be removed. There was absolutely no warning or understanding that the tent was a violation of any rule of TT or the property itself and for Ranger Ric to discuss this with other guests and not us is premeditated discrimination, which is intolerable in any relationship. The second dispute is that, while there is absolutely no rule against the type of tent we had erected in the Thousand Trails Member Rules, there is a definition of what TT interprets to be a "tent", leaving little room for alternative interpretations. The definition provided in the Rules we were presented at the time of contract consideration is found on page 1 of the Member Rules and states; "Tent" means a portable shelter of canvas or other fabric which is supported by poles and which does not have a motor and/or is not designed to be pulled as a trailer behind a motor vehicle. The MaxAP Canopy meets the definition provided during contract consideration and we were never notified that TT Orlando has expectations or definitions conflicting with the TT Membership Rules. We are under the understanding that the Membership Rules are a contract between us and TT and is enforceable on BOTH PARTIES to obey. The first paragraph of the Member Rules clearly states that, "It is a contractual obligation of the members to comply with these rules". We would assume that the contract is legally binding upon all parties involved, including TT Resort Staff. Furthermore, the Membership Rules seems to be exempt of any regulation that defines the use of duct tape or other measures used to ensure the safety of the community, as was used on the black water tank.

The Member Rules do, however, state the following; "The maintenance of natural beauty and safety considerations dictate that all personal clotheslines, tie downs, and similar potential hazards be confined to member's campsite pad area" "Any member who willfully or negligently defaces, injures or destroys any of our property or equipment will be held liable for the full value or replacement cost thereof." Furthermore, State and Federal Laws prohibit the dumping of any sanitation fluids on the ground. Because of these reasons, we felt it was proper to use duct tape to add additional support to our tank connection due to our RV having an odd fitting that does not attach as securely as we would like. We felt that taking this added measure prevented negligence on our part and/or any potential damages to the property. Lastly, there is no rule in the Membership Rules against using duct tape (or any other fix) to prevent leakage or damages from occurring. Due to the lack of any rule against either of these alleged "offenses" we had no prior knowledge of a violation and thus cannot be held liable for violating unwritten and unknown rules. No warning or advice was given by Ranger Ric Silvera pertaining to either offense and to add insult to injury, the second ticket (for the duct tape) was presented the day after the first, yet the duct tape was present when the first was issued and, even at that time, Ranger Ric failed to advise us that the duct tape was unacceptable and, if that wasn't enough, I was on the rear porch of the RV playing with my 4 yr old son while Ranger Ric covertly issued the ticket and he never notified us at any time. Because we had absolutely no foresight into these expectations and were never presented a warning or advice, there is no way for us to have prevented the issuance of the tickets and leaves us in worry that another Ranger may issue an unreasonable and improv citation at some point, making (3) separate violations and grounds for membership suspension.

Also, because of the lack of any official documentation advising us of the rules that we violated we were unable to have "knowledge of the rules", and as stated in the first paragraph of the Membership Rules, "Members are expected to have knowledge of these rules" While this may not be the case, it appears that we were discriminated against for some unknown reason and TT Staff failed to give proper notification of any unacceptable actions prior to issuing an official citation on the matter. We are disputing the aforementioned violations and wish that they be removed from our Resident File and a notation provided to us in writing that the violations were issued improperly and were diligently removed to avoid future complications.

I was told I can live at this RV resort if I get a membership and buy an annual site, they told me that if I buy another site I can have another rv on it for the kids. And I can put sheds and a fence I can bring in rock and grow grass, they sent a notice out to please customize your site make it a home. So I did , I bought 2 RVs and moved in, built the fence, money, 2 sheds at over 3000 a piece , trucked in a lot of rock, more money, put a koi pond, and more money. So I'm there a year and a half, they come to me and say now we decided you can have 2 sites but only 1 rv. So now what, they say you can get another membership and pay monthly at 500 a month. While before I was paying 2850 per year per site , they tell me I have 3 days to do this or get out, so I gave my rv away. I have 4 months left site my lease, but could not do 1 rv with 6 of us. So then they call me and tell me to get my rv off the site I have 4 months left on. I told Lori at thousand trails your kicking me out? I have 4 months left, she called me back and said if you leave the sheds we will give you 700 to be out by Sunday. They must want my site. So now I am renting a house and my rv is still there, I spent so much money to make it look nice. I bet someone that works there wants my spot now that it is looking so good. that's how Lori got her spot, and she still has 2 RVs on two spots and her son lives on one. There is other people there with two spots and 2 RVs. But I guess if you work there or in law in forcemeant or know about the law they leave you alone. I paid over 20,000 for RVs and fixing up my spot and they want to give me 700 to get out and leave my sheds , rock, pond, fence, lawn. These people are nothing but scammers, liers, they don't care I have 4 children there. They want it , they take it. So now what? Take the 700 and leave My things. Encore mafia. Corporate wont respond to my emails. The Manager Tom sais that's my fault for spending so much money. The place is a dump, my place looks good. So now I'm out so much. For there greed. Stay away from 1000 trails they make all these lies to get you in. Then they keep calling me for my monthly dues. Crazy.

My husband and I inherted our thousand tails membership. We were so upset when pulled into a campground and saw that it was open to the public. We loved the fact that it was private. Now there is trash along the water. People yelling and partying all night. Uncalled for. We pay $550 a year so we can camp in what we thought was a safe place were we could camp that was better then the national forests and state parks.

How can I get rid of this money pit that I have to pay on for the rest of my life?
