TigerDirect Reviews

I ordered a Sony Xperia Z1 cellphone from TigerDirect's Rakuten.com store but recieved the Sony Experia M2 which is half the cost of Z1

On 11/29/14 I ordered a Sony Xperia Z1 cellphone from TigerDirect's Rakuten.com store. (Tigerdirect fullfills the orders) On 12/3/14 I received an email stating the the Sony Xperia Z1 is on it's way. (Read: shipped)

On 12/3/14 I received the package but of a different item. The item I recieved was the Sony Xperia M2 instead of the much more expensive Z1 that I ordered.

On 12/3/14 I sent a complaint to Rakuten

On 12/4/14 I recieved an email from Rakuten stating that TigerDirect is responsible for and will be responding to my complaint

On 12/8/14 I received an email with an apology from TigerDirect giving me the option to return and recieve a refund On

12/8/14 I responded saying that I do not need a refund but would like to recieve what I have actually ordered

On 12/9/14 Due to no response, I called TigerDirect customer service and spoke to Jaime Huaman who is (cailmed to be) the CS Manager. I requested to return the wrong order and for TigerDirect to send me the actual item that I have ordered and rightfully should have recieved. Jaime proceeded to explain that even though the item (that I ordered) is available, they are not allowed to exchange the item. I proceeded to explain that I am not exchanging the item, I am only requesting to recieve what I have ordered. Again to no avail, he though politely declined my request.

My complaint: Bait and switch Item recieved is of mush lower value than what was ordered. The average consumer may not know the difference from the look of the product and packaging. I am concerned that many consumers have recieved the wrong product (read: ripped off) and TigerDirect was able to get away with shipping an inferior product.

All I am asking for is to recieve what I ordered, not a refund.

On 11/08/2014 I went to Tiger Direct to physically look at the shelf prices. It was a drive from Mansfield, TX to Mid-Cities Hurst area. I was happy to see that the items I was looking for were a bit cheaper. I thought to myself that when payday comes I will return and pick up the item/s.

I returned the next week on 11/14/2014 and looked once again at the price tags. The price tag for the power supply I wanted in BIG BOLD PRINT stated $39.99. There were three lines highlighted in small print that stated that the manufacturer would honor a $20.00 rebate.

I took the item to the store where the nice yet socially inept cashier began to tell me about the 2 store offered warranties. In his dialogue he told me that one of them would possibly cut me a check for $60.00. At this time I realized the price he was going to charge me was $59.99. I told him to hold on and I went to get the price marker that was for the product. The tag stated retail $89.99. Nowhere on the tag did it say $59.99. I took the tag to the manager where I was told that all the tags reflect the selling price MINUS the manufacturer’s rebate not the store’s rebate (not offered.)

Small recap on this; They mark the tags with the price that you will eventually pay IF you get to receive the rebate which this particular rebate expires on 11/15/2014 yet, with the receipt the Manufacturer will honor. Despite the rebate they consistently lie about the price of the item and mislead you into thinking you are getting a better deal than you will at check out.

I have only been a consumer for 35 of my measly years on this planet yet it has been my experience that stores will honor the price on the tag. This manager WOULD NOT! He continued to reroute the conversation and would not admit how deceiving this is nor would be honor the tag.

I will NEVER shop at Tiger Direct again as they lie to you without even saying a word. There is no telling what else they lie about. I suppose this is why they are no longer in business in many areas in brick and mortar just like they failed in Arlington, TX I imagine they will fail here too!

TIGERDIRECT SELLS ITEMS THAT DOES NOT HAVE IN STOCK. AND THEY MAILED ME ANY ITEM THEY WANT , IT IS UP TO THEIR OPINION OF WHAT I NEED AND WHAT I DON'T NEED. 10 YEARS AGO THIS COMPANY WAS FINE AND NOW AFTER THIS COMPANY MOVED OVERSEAS . IT BECAME A SCAMMER AND CHEATER AND FRAUD.

THEY EVEN REFUSED TO CANCEL MY ORDER EVEN IF THEY DID NOT SHIP IT YET . I SENT THEM 7 EMAILS IN 5 DAYS REQUESTING CANCELATION BUT I GOT NO RESPOND, I CONTACTED PAYPAL AND IN 3 WAYS CALL WITH PAYPAL AND TIGERDIRECT, I REQUESTED CANCELATION AND MONEY BACK, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. BUNCH OF LIARS, JERKS . STAY AWAY , IT IS NOTHING BUT A HEADACHE
