Tolino's Fuel Service Reviews

  • Apr 28, 2014

Do not buy from Tolino's. When I moved to the area almost 14 years ago I bought a house. I'd always cooked with gas so I replaced the stove and bought my tank and first order of propane from them. After doing more shopping I found they were significantly more expensive on their propane so I never purchased from them again. Last night I go to turn on my stove and nothing. I go out to see if my tank was empty and there wasn't even a tank. It was GONE!!!! I called the police and filed a report. They called me this morning informing me that Tolino's had taken the tank claiming non-payment of the lease. I'll bet they didn't even look through their files for a lease with my signature on it. They wouldn't have found it. Good thing I saved the receipt and am able to prove my ownership of the tank. I've needed it to prove ownership every time I was filled by another company and every single company accepted that receipt as proof of ownership. These guys did no due diligence to be able to claim their ownership or that there was a lease. They just came out and stole my tank right off my property. These people are criminals. They've been in business a long time. Why are most of their reviews so bad? I know they've been around at least 14 years and if they were really any good one would think most of the reviews would be too with only a few people that complain no matter how good a service or product is. What does it say that most of their reviews are bad? Stay away from Tolino's.

Not that the police were much help. They said if Tolino's took the tank there must have been a reason. There was no legal court order giving them permission to repossess. Tolinos could not provide any lease agreement with my signature. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who comes and takes my property, again, which I have a receipt for showing full payment 4 years ago, that is theft. Let's hear it for the Plainfield police as well.

They finally returned the tank but with no apology of any kind. They probably would never have returned it if the police had not been called into this.
