Great Event!

I love taking my family to the Tournament of Destruction! It sure is entertaining watching the staged theatrical controversy with the drivers being at ends with each other. Great entertainment tactics!

Hook N Book Racing Team derbied for Tournament of Destruction/M80 Promotions for over 22 years. We recently complained about the promoters son Ian Penn cheating and we were suspended. Ian continued to race, when we went to the Lions Club whom are the owners of the Tucson Rodeo Grounds, we were expelled from racing. The Lions Club never helped us instead Dale Penn the promoter of the show who is ward member 1 on the board of the Lions Club (which we found out later) made a club in the middle of a points season to "legally" kick our team out and anyone else who complained about his son. We started picketing and protesting all of his events. Dale Penn has called the police every time we have protested. The police said we were within our civil rights and that there was nothing that they could do. Dale Penn then took it further and went to the courts to get an "Order of Protection"

Court was supposed to be within 10 days of the day we filed to hear from the judge. The court date landed on the day of his Tournament of Destruction. he filed a continuance which was granted.

We are still waiting on court about dropping this thing because Dale was very vague on his reasoning as to why he got the restraining order. He stated the police were called which they were but he didn't state that there wasn't any violations and that we were only practicing our first amendment rights. The Promoter of Tournament of Destruction has now ruined our teams name saying that we are the cheaters and he continues to try to take our civil rights away! There used to be 25+ cars every show and now he has limited it down to only 6-8 cars. We have heard from some of the current drivers that Dale doesn't want any of his current drivers hitting any other car too hard (Sandbagging), and has threatened the other drivers that if they run in another event they will not be welcome back to his. Derbies are about cars smashing, mud flinging, every driver for themselves, and the last car running! It is supposed to be a fun event in which you have a chance to win a little bit of money in the end, now its just a nightmare!

We paid good hard earned money for a fair competition and that's all We want the promoter of the show Dale penn his son Ian penn aka max powers enters the competition. Which is a conflict of interest dale helps build Ian Penn's derby vehicles which have been proven to be built with illegal reinforcement and he wins it used to be that a driver could protest an illegally built vehicle until Ian Penn's got disqualified for cheating then everyone from hook n book racing and other teams were suspended as a result.and if anyone that is still running at dale s show derbies at any other show except the county fair they were told there Not welcome back now dale Penn has made it a club and you have to be a member to enter of course team hook n book were turned away along with a long list of other's dale took out restraining orders out try to prevent hook n book racing from protesting his event he falsely reported to police and a judge there are no charges, he uses our image's on his commercial for his show that's because he can't find real demolition derby drivers that want to win fair and be able to say they beat every one that was willing and able to get in the ring not I beat everyone my daddy let in! And yes he works for the city of tucson advisory committee
