This is happening to thousands of military people, who fall behind. I got behind in 2006 after accident and my credit limit was $2000.00 and now it is $10,000 from interest. They threaten you and tell you monies they are getting DOES NOT COVER INTEREST.
Opened AFFES (Army & Airforce Excahange Card in 1998, Was in car accident in 2006, have not worked since. I got small settlement in 2008 and tried to make a pay off arrangement, at the time they said I owed 4000.00 on $2000.00 limit. I refused since I had insurance to cover divorce (2007) illness (5 operations 2007)they did not use the insurance. So I refused. I have never talked to them or heard from them since. Apparently they sold my account in November of 2008 to Trans World Systems. Again I never got any paperwork or notices from them. I recieved Social Security in January 2013 and AFFES took 2 payments out of my monies. I called them and it stopped. After issues getting my disability for 2 years I got my first check June 2015 and Trans World attached my check and now are taking my money. I am 62 yrs old and at this time I am homeless. This is preventing me from getting a place to live. There is no end in sight. This is now happening to Thousands of Military personel.
