Truck Country Reviews

I called this repair shop for a seal replacement on a differential and was advised by the daytime sevice advisor K Hoover, that I should come to their shop immediately as they just had an opening in the schedule. I was also given a quote that as it was a simple and routine repair I should expect to pay in the range of 320 to 360 dollars...a little high but I needed to get it taken care of as quick as possible as I had another load assigment pending.

Upon arrival I was still assured that the price and times were unchanged. But after taking all of my information the repair quote I was shown was around 740 dollars and that they may or may not get it done that night. I asked that they would see if the bearing needed to be replaced by checking if there was any metal chips or filings present on the old seal . The quote went to 1300.00 immediately. I stated that there wasn't any way I could afford that, so the quote was revised to 1100 plus.

I was also advised to get a room so they might work on it that night. Motel 8 East was where they advised me to go as it is the arranged location for drivers. That also was not as advertised price wise. They said around 40 but the motel said 79 plus tax, I used my Corporate Lodgings Card to get that down to 54. But I got the room.

Upon arrival back to their shop the next morning I found not only had they not started on the repairs, but there was now another truck scheduled ahead of mine and that I shouldn't expect to get an answer on the start of repairs until later in the day as they were short of techs. So I told him that I would take it to the shop at home as this cost me the load I was scheduled on. He told me because I was leaving it would cost me 100.26 for the write up, dishonest treatment, and a guy to say" ayup Its a leaker alritey".... hyuh hyuh hyuh time fer lunch!!!

Anyone who voluntarily enters Truck Country deserves the loss of money and time and self respect they get. The trip 740 miles home resulted in a repair done on time within quote and the old parts were shown to me. There are plenty of honest shops. This isn't one.
