TRUX RENTAL is a business that sells trucks and also rents them out.
They advertised on Craigslist and every time I called them the deal was changing. When I went down there they quoted me a price that was 3 times higher than they were advertising. They asked for a $800 deposit secured through a credit card. I said I wasn't going to pay $800 and they accepted $500. We got them to a closer price to what they advertised and we took the "full coverage" insurance. They gave us many options of what truck we would want, but eventually confessed that we could only rent what was in the lot at the time, apparently a reservation means nothing. We told them we would have to take the truck out of state and we asked what would happen if it broke down, the manager said it wouldn't be a problem and we would have to call him.
I drove the truck home and the over-heating light came on. I opened the back of the truck and there were leaves scattered in the back for which there is an additional fee for not returning the truck clean. I looked at the contract and it was printed with "THE CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL TOWING AND REPAIRS OUTSIDE A 50 MILE RADIUS". Apparently, the "full coverage" insurance covers nothing.
I called the credit card company and they told us they would not block any charges made by the company. We took the truck back and they were giving us issues about if the truck was parked inside the lot or outside of the lot. We ended up giving them whatever money they asked for, including the cleaning fee, just to get away from the company. The weekend I needed the truck was completely wasted.
