Two Men and A Brush Reviews

  • Jun 26, 2014

After an interior job by two men and a brush subcontractors, I noticed unfinished areas, streaks, unfilled holes and gaps, and extensive damage from spilled paint on my carpet, tile, and flooring. There was also consistent paint splatter on my brand new, top-of-the-line windows. Before remitting payment I brought this to the attention of the foreman who became belligerent and intimidating. Earlier in the job the foreman and his crew were bragging about drug use and felony convictions, so I was fearful of making him angry any further while home alone with them. I hired maid service and professional carpet cleaning to try reversing the damage done by two men and a brush. I also attempted to repair the sloppy work myself. All these efforts proved unsuccessful. At that point, I contacted two men and a brush to complain about services rendered.

Carrie diligently attempted to correct the issue by sending a second crew to repair the sloppy work and damage. This crew missed the appointment time claiming their vehicle broke down. Please note, the first crew was also late and used this excuse. I contacted Carrie and she sent a third crew out. This third crew stayed only three hours and left the repairs incomplete. A hastily applied paint, did not apply primer or a second coat resulting in streaky, unfinished work. They did not attempt to clean up the flooring or carpet and created more damage than originally done. Carrie offered to send a professional carpet cleaning company out to clean the carpet at no expense to us. I accepted this offer, but it took over two weeks before somebody could come out. When they finally arrived, the technician was over an hour early. Upon evaluation and attempting to repair the damage, the technician-Alan-said the paint could not come in some areas and would damage the carpet in others. After exhausting all reasonable remedies, I contacted Carrie who referred me to the owner, Kevin, for final solutions.

I set up an appointment with Kevin, who called me 30 minutes after our scheduled appointment stating he did not check his calendar and thought the appointment was at 10 AM that Saturday rather than 9 AM. He asked if I still wanted him to come out to evaluate the damage and offer a solution. I asked you currently was, and he stated he was still at home in the Broadmoor area-over one hour from our home. When I stated the fact that it was not acceptable excuse for a business owner to be unaware of his calendar and over one and a half hours late to a meeting, Kevin lectured me about how busy he is. When I stated my husband and I both work full-time, he had no regard for our time and was misogantly dismissive of me. He decided to reschedule and stated office personnel would contact me that following Monday. I did not receive a call from his office personnel on Monday as promised. We are close of business Wednesday, Cindy contacted me to schedule the meeting the next day (Thursday) in the morning. I stated both my husband and I work full-time in or not available throughout the week. I informed her that Saturday would be appropriate. Cindy continued the scheduling, asking if I was available Tuesday morning. I reiterated that I work full-time and I'm not available throughout the week. Cindy chuckled and said she assumed I only work part-time.

I told her I found the fence that two men and a brush operated on misogynist values and that if Kevin wanted to meet me and in lieu of expeditiously preparing the damages to my home (which is currently for sale), he could contact me personally so there is not another breakdown in communication and waste of my time. I informed her I would be launching a claim with the Better Business Bureau and Kevin could contact me with any questions. It is relevant note that Kevin provided the estimate and contract, and was also late for the initial consultation.

Kevin called again when I stated I was filing a claim. he refused to provide me with his insurance information for me to file a claim with them. he also told me that I was unreasonable for being upset that he was so late he couldn't come on the Saturday. He is now refusing to provide any refund or costs for the carpet damage. Any time I would make a comment, ask a question, or propose a solution he would say that he is "not going to play my game" and scoffed at me when I said I am busy with other plans. He was very mocking when I told him I could not schedule later in the day Saturday (the one he missed) because of other obligations, like showing my house that is for sale. He also told me that I can have fun taking it to small clams court, because he always wins.

Whatever you do, DO NOT USE THEM! They are liars, felons, cheaters, thieves, and misogamists.
