I wish I had read all of this information before I answered his Craigslist ad to hang out for a night.
I love meeting new people from new places and so I was bored and browsing CL to see if anyone wanted to hang out. So I found his ad. I suggested a place in Downtown sac and he met me there. Seemed like a really nice guy, we got along pretty well, and he told me this story about how he was in a CAR ACCIDENT and that's why his left side was pretty messed up. And then he launches into being the CEO of a $100MILLION dollar company. I thought it was odd he would reveal something like that on a first date but he actually ""broke down"" and said he has trouble dating because of it and goes to therapy. I felt kind of bad for the guy.
But then after we hit another couple bars, he started getting kind of sloshed and started professing his love for me. I thought it was really weird but I had been having lots of financial trouble myself recently, so I went, you know, maybe he wants to help me out of it (I AM NOT A GOLD DIGGER. KEEP READING.) He even said he had a new iphone 4 laying around and he'd give it to me because he wasn't using it (and my cell phone badly needs replacing). He started talking about this house he was building in Sac and he was like ""you can come live with me if you want, I have a big kitchen and I'll cook for you"" etc etc etc. I went, what if this guy genuinely likes me? I have dreams of writing a book and traveling all over Europe so I thought he might want to invest in it. He liked the idea and even said he'd front me money for my research. I thought, I can live my dream, this is awesome!
We hit one bar and I tried in good faith to show him that I wasn't interested in him for his money, because I genuinely liked the guy. So the waitress came with our drinks and I gave her a $20 before he could because I wanted to buy a round. He got PISSED. He started talking down to me about disrespecting him and ""what if anyone saw that they would think less of me"" etc etc etc. I went, geez. Ok. I didn't know what his problem was but by that point I had had too much to drink and couldn't drive. And now I'm pretty sure he did that on purpose.
So my car was parked downtown and we ended up cabbing it back to his hotel (where he was ""staying until his mansion in sac was finished being built"") and I just wanted to crash out, but at this point I was so wasted (he kept pouring drinks down my throat) I blacked out in his hotel. I'm pretty sure we had sex and I don't really remember doing it. Don't know if he managed to roofie me or something but the next morning, I still liked him so at THAT point I didn't really mind if we did or not. (please save your judgements) He asked me if I'd like to have lunch with him on Sunday and I said yes, so he said he'd make a reservation for Morton's at noon.
He stood me up.
I haven't been able to get in touch with him since and now I'm pissed. I'm fairly sure now he roofied me since after reading all this it seems like his style. I'm really hurt because I did genuinely like the guy- or at least I liked what he made up. But he was funny and sweet and he promised me all these things- and I'm a smart girl with a pretty strong bullshit radar so I can't believe I got duped this way. He made it believable with how much money he dropped on drinks and buying strangers rounds and whatnot, and I felt bad for him because of his disability (the ""car accident"").
So now I feel like I need to take a really hot shower and bite my knees and cry a little. This guy is evil.
