United States Postal Service Reviews

  • Jul 1, 2015

On April the 30th my friend and I saw a local mail man and my friend handed my package to him. A few days later I called the Post Office and was told that my package is actually a UPS package and not a USPS package. I was told that the mistake happens frequently so a UPS worker comes to the post office daily to retrieve all wrongfully given packages and my package should be arriving to UPS soon. I waited a few more days and called UPS and they told me that they never touched my package and they could not help me at all. I have come to the conclusion that USPS has lost my package. They claim to have looked every where but can not find it. I have been told that the mail man should not have taken my package after hearing the buzzer and after scanning it and discovering it was a UPS package. There is nothing anyone can do for me anymore as if my package has disappeared into thin air. I have already paid to extend my rental in hopes that the post office will find it but it's been a month and I have realized that I will have to pay $164 out of my pocket for the rented books which Knetbooks hasn't received. I made a claim to the Better Business Bureau and they told me they couldn't help me, for reasons that I do not really understand. I do not know what else I can do.

I was on the official USPS website and I clicked on change my address. This company is what came up next so I assumed it was a part of the USPS. I was a bit confused as to why they needed my credit card info but since it was only $0.01 I kind of reluctantly entered it. After I did that I started reading some if the small lettering and saw that it said they would be charging me $40 for a service that the post office does for free!! So I looked for how to get a refund bc it said they would refund anyone's money by just emailing them.

Only there is no email address or any way if contacting them at all!! I went to the BBB website and there's a bunch if complaints about this company but nothing is being done to stop them. Reason being bc they can't find them. If no one can find them then why aesthetic still able to conduct business here in the US or anywhere? Luckily I called my credit card company and they quickly cancelled that transaction or I would have been stuck paying these scam artists my hard earned money. The USPS NEEDS to look into this bc I was lead to them by being on their website! Not ok.

I get secure packages every month from local VA, and my local mail carrier does not take time to see if anyone is at home, we are always home, fix income so do not go out. What is funny is they mark packages delever at 10:00am and never ever do we get mail until 4:30/5:30 pm .I am sick of asking for help on this matter at our local post office , only to be told new carrier mistake, I don't have new carrier. Get my package with meds here when sent or next I will contact Postmaster.

I have been receivng CRUSHED and/or boxes with HOLES from the USPS for over two months! Over 90% of my boxes are trashed and over 75% of the trashed boxes have danage and insurance claims have been filed. Some boxes have even had postage due. After receiving some of the boxes at my local post office i have asked for a pair of scissors to open the damaged boxes there. They have been rude and don't care! When I tried to talk to the manager about the damage, it was "well the shipper didn't double box, use bubble wrap, or packing material in the box. That particular item was triple bubble wrapped and the box had packing peanuts to the brim in it!

Other boxes arriving damaged have bubble wrap, newspaper, packing peanuts and items are bubble wrapped. A few of the boxes with damage have even had the contents inside double boxed and they still manage to damage the items!

After getting nowhere with my local PO I sent a letter to the postmaster general in Washington, DC.

I also emailed them. I got a response from someone in Phoenix regarding the email It was the same story- not USPS's fault, it was the shippers. However, the Phoenix office started that someone at my local PO would be checking all boxes before they were allowed to be delivered to me. EPIC FAIL! They delivered another crushed box after this was supposedly put in effect! I emaile the person back and wanted to know why the box was crushed if the local PO was in fact checking my boxes. Phoenix called me a liar! I emailed back and stated that this is unaceptable and if they were not a government run agency that I would sue to recoup the money for all the damage items and shipping costs on the boxes they damage.

I was given the name and number of a person to contact at my local PO. A waste of time as they NEVER answer the phone.

In regards to the claims I've filed, they cannot read! I sent proof of value, shipping info, pictures of damage, etc. They claim that I didn't send proof of value, what the item was, when it was purchased, etc. WHAT LIARS! So, resending it as I have no intention of letting them off the hook that easily!

I have told my leasing office that they have permission to refuse any box for me that is damaged in any way. I will have to go to the PO to get these boxes, however the PO will not be able to call me a liar then! I fully intend to go with camera in hand and my own scissors to open the boxes.

This has got to stop! Right now it's more the principal of the matter. The USPS is CORRUPT, and runs a huge INSURANCE SCAM! Never mind the customer service- that is NON EXISTENT!

I made a video, explaining all the trouble I'm having with the USPS, and in this video, there are documents and evidence. First the USPS delivered my box in the wrong place (in another state). When finally, the box arrived at my house, the box came with a tape saying it was repackaged by USPS. My box came with broken objects and missing parts. I tried to complain online, but the number (that works for tracking the box) does not work to complain. I went up to the local agency, responsible for delivery in my zip. They said it was my problem, and they could not (and would not) do anything.

Here is the video:

I am tired of getting cheated out of my money with these f****** usps clowns. They charge outrageous fees to deliver something and it never shows up.That my friends is called stealing and its happened a number of times I want something done.If you advertise that overnight or 2nd day mail will be delivered at certain fee and you fail to deliver it's called stealing.I don't want to hear about the weather or traffic or any other situation that would otherwise impede my delivery date. Buddy let me tell you something your telling that to the wrong guy. These s****** lowlives working at USPS think they can do this to everyone? Not so I will file a class action lawsuit against these scumbags that steal people's money everyday like it's nothing. They stole the wrong person's money. I want everyone to know USPS are all a bunch of con-artist.When this guy shows up with my package if he does I am going report his fat a*s because that's usually what they all are a bunch lazy fat a**** eating there sandwiches as they deliver your packages with grease all over the packing slip.A bunch of lazy fat slobs who don't want to do their jobs and take their sweet f****** time.

USPS postal insurance is a scam. They don't have a written out policy detailing what is required if you end up needing to file a claim for lost or stolen shipment. They appear to never intend paying a claim. On their web site it says you are buying declared coverage. I declared a value when I bough the extra insurance. Their agent saw what I was shipping and did not tell me it would not be covered. She sold me the coverage. When the shipment was lost or stolen they denied the clam. They want to know what I paid for it in 2008. and they want a receipt for that purchase. Item still has $1,200 price tag on it from when I purchased it. This happen to be a 1 carat diamond ring. When I bough it, I bought three of them. When they denied the $1,200.00 value I had one of the other rings appraised by a local jeweler. It appraised for $1,900.00. They don't accept that. This item was shipped in a small flat rate box with $1,200 extra insurance. Both the flat rate box and the insurance require scanning every time it changes stations. It was lost in los Angeles for 8 days. then it went to Rondo Beach. last scan when sent out for delivery. During the 17 days it was in transit I filed 4 cases trying to find and keep track of its status. I never got a reply to three of those cases. The USPS does not care about you. They change and add new rules to suit their needs. Scam you and the boat you came in on. BUY PRIVATE INSURANCE. Do not use USPS for anything.

I ship items on a weekly basis through the USPS, spend TONS of the USPS. I get issues on a MONTHLY basis, where I have to take the time out of my day to call them. usually about items going the opposite way they are suppose to, or frozen tracking numbers. MAGICALLY, the tracking usually gets updated seconds after I call, or all of a sudden the next day. Regardless, they usually fix it. Still I should not have to make Any calls to get what I pay for.

TODAY takes the cake. I live in Victorville, I shipped a package to STOCKTON, saae state, three weeks ago. NO ONE scanned it, and to today is still a blank. Business as usual I guessl so I call them up, get "Increased Volume in Calls..Please Call Back" Business as USUAL. A few dozen calls later I finally am GRACED to be on HOLD.

I finally have a human to talk to. The Women who answered is snippy, and tells me that NO CASE can be opened because I did not send item.

I try to explain that NON of my labels ever get scanned until they arrive, but this one was taking much too long. Again she tells me no case wihout me ever sending item. I kept contesting, but they were talking to me like I was lying. I finally told them to speak to a SUPERVISOR, plain and simple, no attitude, no rude voice.......*Click* I am hung up on.

Today my USPS Lost count has gone up. The USPS has Lost/Possibly Stolen, 8 Fully payed with Tracking, Packages. 8 Valuable Items! How Many People at the USPS care, 0.

The United States Postal Service is engaging in fraudulent insurance claim activity. In order for a claim to be considered valid when an item is lost or damaged, it must be scanned into their system and a receipt given at the time of shipping. This means that the following means of posting an item are potentially invalid if the item is never scanned into their system (read 'misplaced' by the carriers):

USPS blue dropbox is no guarantee of scan

USPS carrier pickup is no guarantee of scan

USPS location counter dropoff is no guarantee of scan

The ONLY valid means of ensuring they cannot deny a claim because an item was not scanned in is if you hand the item to the agent at the counter and request a receipt while you stand there waiting. There is no online or in-person documentation or proof that this is required, and when contacted, the USPS agents are unable to provide any documentation which explains any of this. Yet, all that is required for them to deny the claim (without providing any evidence) is to say 'Sorry, your claim has been denied'.

I urge everyone shipping anything of value to wait in line at the counter, request a receipt, and watch while the agent scans your item into the system or better yet, use a more trustworthy method of shipping from their competitors. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on, but I urge caution if you must use USPS.

The USPS call center in Los Angeles is the worst. So far everyone that I've talked to from this location has been korean and can barely speak english. I've had the unfortunate luck of being transferred to this call center and they will outright give you wrong information just to get you off the phone. How they got the job, well, it's the good old boy routine. If you have a family member or friend inside, they will huck you up with a job even if you don't qualify.

The federal authorities should really look into the hiring practices that the USPS is allowing to happen.

My son has been attempting to serve court papers on a person named RYAN BLACK, formerly of Huntington Indiana now a resident of Greenwood Indiana. MR. BLACK lied on a disclosure form during a signing of a purchase agreement about an encroachment by him on a neighbors property. He said that there where NO encroachments. I am suing him for my earnest money deposit and a mutual release agreement.

The court papers were supposed to be forwarded to his new address in Greenwood Indiana. They were deliberately stalled, I believe, at the Huntington Indiana Post office by DENISE ANTINNUCCI, a supervisor at this post office.

We went to the Huntington post office on Friday, Nov. 15th, with the Postal Service's form entitled 'Request for employee or customer information', which with the proper documentation would allow us to get RYAN BLACK'S forwarding address.

We went to this post office with all the proof we needed (court papers, etc.) yet MS. ANTINNUCCI denied us service. One of her employees, stated that 'how do we know that you aren't going to go to his address and murder him?.'

I am an elderly and disabled senior citizen, yet MS. ANTINUCCI proceeded to scream at me various reasons why we could not get this info. She appeared to become totally 'unhinged' by our request for forwarding info that we requested. This lead me to believe that there was a person/entity behind this whole senario who does not want us to sue MR BLACK. Perhaps, MR BLACK has an important corrupted relative that has some pull at this post office. Or maybe it was another entity. I believe, like at lot of Americans do, that corrupted officials use their position to prevent certain citizens from expressing their civil rights.

Just like magic the next day, Sat. Nov. 16th, I get an email from the postal service that states that the mail was forwarded to Greenwood but undeliverable because there was no signee available. To bad, but I do not believe in coincidences.

I've got news for you and the person/entity that asked you to, I believe, 'hold onto' these court documents to avoid delivery, you are breaking the law and the rules and regulations of your organization.

One of MS.ANTINUCCI'S fellow employee's had the nerve to say that 'as a citizen you have no right to this info'. Well just how many rights do citizens have left in this country?.. The forms for obtaining the info we needed are directly from the USPS on website.!!!!!!!

We are going to serve RYAN BLACK, with court papers whether or not he or the entity that I am referring to, likes it or not!!!!!!

So I go to mail a package at the kiosk at my post office. It asks me to enter the street number and first name of the street and automatically looks up the address so I thought everything was going smoothly. In a few days the recipient contacts me and says the package was returned because it was delivered to the wrong address. I know for a fact I did not write the wrong address because I checked multiple times and checked on the kiosk. So one of their incompetant employees misread my handwriting and attempted to ship it to the wrong place!!

Last time this happened I never got the package back. It was suppose to be returned to me and instead it somehow got marked to be delivered back to the recipients address, and it kept bouncing back and forth across the country until finally it got delivered somewhere...I still don't know where to this day. I lost over $200.

So anyway, I try calling them and their automated system tells me customer service is not an option. I call multiple times and start pressing buttons trying to get the system to put me through to no avail. So finally I got fed up and cursed at it and it changed its tone. It offered to transfer me to customer service but first it wanted me to tell it what I was calling about. I called over 20 times and never got to an associate. Even then they aren't helpful. Needless to say I will not be using them again. I'd happily pay more for peace of mind.

Package was insured with USPS for $250. Contents destroyed, with an estimated replacement value of $271.

Claim filed and USPS sent a check for $50., with letter stating "Your claim has been approved, however it has been paid at a lesser amount than requested." (No reason??). It goes on to say, "If you wish to appeal, send to the Claim Appeals Office in St. Louis, Mo." All of the paperwork and documentation was sent to the appeals office along with extensive photos of damage, original packaging, all receipts including insurance, and formal written estimate from replacement service center....all mailed on May 25, 2014. It is now August 15, 2014, and I have had no relpy. On July 22, 2014, I mailed a followup letter to complain to the USPS Consumer Advocates Office in Washington, D.C., and I have heard nothing from them. With all of this in consideration, one can only conclude that this USPS is totally dysfunctional. What will it take to get the attention of these people? Is there a class action lawsuit I can join. Can anyone out there advise? ...... VICTIM

We send a package USPS Priority to Orlando in USPS box. The track shows that it was out for delivery for 4 days. We called the local post office who promised to talk to the carrier and call us back. NEVER CALLED BACK and then suddenly status was changed from "Out for Delivery" to "Dead Mail / Sent to Mail Recovery Center". I went to customer service at the main Salt Lake Office for an explanation and was shown scans of the package which showed the address portion was damaged but the barcode was clearly intact. It had to be or they would not have been able to update the tracking on the package. It was never scanned in at the center. It was never found or returned even though there was an address slip placed in the box just in case something went wrong.

Bottom line is they had three ways to fix it if they followed proceedure and they all failed. 1) Since the barcode was intact one quick scan and they have all address info and could have delivered on that basis. 2) A form was sent from the Salt Lake office to Atlanta with a description of the contents which they are requiered by law to inspect and catalog. FAIL. 3) The package contained a slip with all of the sending and recieving addresses so clearly the package was never inspected.

When I returned to the Salt Lake office, They were unable to explain all of the lapses and then told me that this service is a "courtesy" to make me understand that they are doing me a favor to even look and that failure is ok since this is not a required service.

Someone is getting lots of Americas stuff. Check out this site as one example govdeals.com/ There are tons and tons of americas stuff for auction. Are there really that many people who cant write an address? Computers, tablets and every other goodie you coulld imagine.

The Atlanta center does not accept calls and by policy will not even respond to other Post Offices inquireis. In other words there is ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. THEY ARE NOT FOLLOWING THE PROCEEDURES THEY DESCRIBE

NEVER USE USPS. It is a COURTESY to you to successfully deliver your stuff.

I am going to try to make my report as simple as possible, and with the rage I am feeling right now, that may be difficult. I'll try to break it down.

I am a member of a military family. Husband is currently deployed. We are currently stationed at Ramstein AB, Germany. As our dollar to euro rate has pretty much been horrible for the last 3 years, many consumers shop online because while AAFES tries, they just can't get everything in overseas. I chose to shop online for a GPS system. I was purchasing it for my husbands birthday. It came in during July 07. The USB cables that were sent with it (I think) were defective so of course I contacted the company and was told it would be no problem to return the entire system, and they would replace it. Great customer service. The GPS unit was approx $500.00, so of course, when I mailed it back to the company, I insured it. Who wouldn't? $500.00 is no drop in the bucket.

Back and forth via e-mail, time went on and the customer service rep I was sending it back to told me that she never recieved it. Because it was sent from and APO address I had to wait, I believe, 130 days before filing a claim.

I filed my claim after waiting the 130 days and had all my documentation. I then received a letter from the USPS Department of Claims in St. Louis. The letter stated that my claim was missing my address and the address I had mailed the package to.

Well, I looked at the copies of the paperwork that I sent, and my address was actually on it, but they were right I had provided the name and phone number of the rep I sent the package to, but not the mailing address. So, I typed up a letter with all the information that was asked for. The letter stated that a response had to be recieved by 23 Feb 08 or the claim would be cancelled. In my letter with the missing information, I also detailed that I had not received the letter until the week before, and that I was sure my response was late, but please take the missing information and complete the claim process. I also asked to be contacted if there was a problem with processing anything because my response was late.

I never received a response.

I did figure that processing claims took time and that I wouldn't hear anything for a month or two. In May 2008 I became concerned because I hadn't heard anything and I contacted the help desk via e-mail. I will also say now, that if you want to try to contact anybody in a way other then e-mail, names and phone numbers are not readily and easily found on the websites. That is why I went the e-mail route.

This is the e-mail traffic that ensued, and this does not include the phone calls that I made as well to the help desk and while the personnel was very curteous and friendly, they all told me no problem that the claim would be processed.

Subject: claim status

Good afternoon,

I filed a PS Form 1000 through my post office on 3 January 2008. In February, I received a letter from USPS stating that the claim was incomplete because I did not provide the full address of where the insured package was addressed to and to provide that information. I mailed a letter with the missing information to the address that was stated in the letter.

It is now May, and I have not heard anything about my claim. The insured mail receipt number was VG 711 474 902 US.

If someone could please let me know the status of my claim I would greatly appreciate it. $500.00 is a lot to just write off, and I've been waiting for it to re-purchase the GPS system that was lost in the mail.

thank you for any assistance,

very respectfully,

Good morning,

I recieved the message below and I did in fact recieve the letter (as stated in my previous e-mail) requesting a complete name and address for both the mailer and addressee. I responded with the information in a letter that was mailed back to the address listed in the letter.

Was this letter not received? I am told to send a request in writing again in the message below, however if I mailed a reponse once already and it was not received I am hesitant to mail a response again. Is it possible to accept this e-mail as a request to reopen this claim that I was not notified was closed?

In addition, the complete name and address for the mailer and addressee is as follows:

Mailer:

xxxxxxxx

Addressee:

xxxxxxxx

I greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide. The letter I sent previously was mailed during the last week of February, so it definitely should have arrived. I also sent a previous e-mail asking if it had been received, but never got a response.

Subject: RE: claim status

Good afternoon,

I would like to get a status update on ticket 3288236. I did not receive an e-mail back from the claims department, and this has been happening to me time and time again. Every time I call, the customer service rep (who is always very friendly) sends and e-mail to the claims department and I get no response. Then, I go through e-mail after e-mail like the ones below and I get no response. Obviously e-mails to the claims department isn't working. Is there another route I can go? I feel like I have given ample time to receive a response and I keep getting blown off. I'd really like to talk to someone else directly, but I am always directed to the customer service desk. While you guys try to be helpful, what ever e-mails or requests your sending obviously aren't being taken care of.

Are there no managers or anyone I can speak with regarding this issue?

Once again, thank you for any assistance you can provide. Who ever is at the claims department (though they seem to have no name and no phone number) is lucky to have the help desk people buffering angry calls. :)

Dear

The prior ticket that was sent to the claims dept. was accepted and is updating the data. I do suggest, however, if you still have the deficiency letter, to return the letter also with the requested information.

Thank you,

So, it's been over a month since the last e-mail and I sent another update request this afternoon. I don't know what the heck I'm supposed to do next?

I followed all the rules, filed everything I was supposed to, but I'm just at my wits end. I'm so tired of getting ripped off by large companies it drives me insane. Usually I leave it alone, I figure lessoned learned. But darn it, I insured my package, it wasn't received. I want my money! And why aren't there any managers to speak to? It's crazy!

The postmaster Angie is primary suspect in the theft of 4 boxes of personal checks with the postmaster claiming that the checks were delivered ,how ever a blind consumer was forced to close a checking account that was over 20 years old because she order new checks by mail with having paid for "to your door "delivery .that UPS was primary carrier who then dropped the checks of at the local post office ,and that was the last place the checks ended up at. that this ignorent postmaster insulted the inteligance of a consumer by claiming the checks were delivered thereafter claimed that i talked to delevery person in regards the missing checks ,futher insult was in the delivering of a package next day of vitamins and claimed that the less important item had a better paid postage .and or tracking option .

that further dishonesty and or injuring the blind consumer is in the intentional not mailing credit card payment that then turned in to late payment charges ,that this not mailing the payments is an act that injured the blind consumer 4 times over a period over the last 5 years ,that this insulting postmaster angie claimed that she is the postmaster for the last 6 month and her employees do not do such acts ,with the employees sylvia and babara claiming they understand what it is like top have pay late charges and have the personall checks stolen and they advised to approach this insult of a human being that is claiming ,delivered ,carrier was talked too .

as we followed thew advise of the criminal employees advise and on 06.02.2014 the blind consumer was trying to reason with this insulting postmaster ,that twisted words called us liars ,with action dated 06.02.2014 by a employee acting for the social security adminstration at the victorville office scheduling an appointment for the blind induvidual who is 65 and is blind from the age of nineteen and that a notice like that was never mailed and or used as she can remember ,as the point that we are trying to make is the following

that the victim lets the postal worker sell the checks so her account can be pennetated and or is she complaint in regards the checks her SSI will be cut ..

the point is as it is written and this insult of human acting as a posatmaster after reading the letter claimed that there is nothing about 1 box of the checks mentioned by the SSA anmd her employees dsont have the time to commit such act of ID theft .

that if one can get mechandise paid foor with the proper shipping paid for and then must mail credit card payments from another city is insulting and now after trying to obtain fairness from a supervisor that call consumers a liar without hessitation and is assigned 6 months ago ,the question is simple was she punished by aasigment to phelan and or did she grant sexual favors to become a postmaster based on her trobleshooting of crimial and dishonsty practice by postal workers .

the SSa was a warning to the blind consumer and in regards my helping my friend and also the party that luckely went to the mail box on 06.03.2014 otherwise we would have missed the "warning by a employee of the SSA who granted a favor asked by a postal worker who stole the chacks and intentionally does not send credit card payments, that on the same day the checks were taken i handed the criminal employee barbara 2 payment that the camera should provide the factr that the letters were handed to the postal worker and only 1 payment was cashed and the other payment is missing .they call all this action a harmless error that is criminal and it i justified by the postmaster that calls a consumer a liar without a blink of an eye and that my self for elping my friend i was served a subpeana to a credit card to release my banking information and or the routing and account number if i pay the bill by check and or release the internet account of my chevron card aslso dated 06.02.2014

that the postmastyer angie is an insult to any citicen ,employer and is a legal liability upon th usps that is equalto operate like the mafia and or orgenized crime in the name of the people of the usa .that on how she become a postmaster was not her ability to supervisae ,that based on her looks i dont belive she was favored for sexual favors so that leave only one other waqy of promotion and that is even scarier then the othersa because her supervisor is equal to insulting a blind consumer .

thy take the checks and if you complaint with the postmaster the blind consumer looses hee SSI benefits is true fact and that the ssi never mentioned 1 box of the checks inthisa warniong there is nothing unsuall and or is proper ,that thius was the first of such notices that at the end of the interview the reason wfor such shornotice action was in the birthdate of the blind induvidual that the SSAhas the date of 26 and the real birth date is on the 27 which after almot 50 years they find an error in her boirthdate and for her to bring her bithcetifacate to the offive in victorville to correct such error presents the fact that a post worker has a friend at the SSAoffice who will act on behalf the SSI benefits is scary .as for my self my SSI was cut just like that without any appeal and or doctors orders claiming that i am no longer disabled ,and the same poat worker babara was the cause as she was once a bank manager that is now pushing stampspresent the real cause on this action but then the incompetent and or insulting postmaster presents the the liability for the pople in phelan

that havcing to mail out mail in victorvile is insane but if one does not want to pay late charges on credit cards based on they failure by the postal workers to mail the payment is true fact and as it is said "life is not fair and to get on with it is somewhat correct how ever if a postal worker can take mail to hurt a blind induvidual and then advising to approach this icopetent postmaster presents a sad fact and to go in withit is easier said then done .as itis written and it is no bull that this postmaster is a liability upon the consumers in phelan who need to mail and or recive mail based on such service provided .

to angie ,and what can i say you have my prayers and hope you will get forgiveness ,not from us.

Got a $150 Dell docking bay for $50 and was mailed to me with $50 insurance. It was broken by the United States Post Office and they refuse to pay the claim.

The top and bottom are broken apart from each other. The things that the screws go into where broken while being shipped prority mail with $50 worth the insyrance.

They have been refusing to pay the claim saying it is not broken. But the top of it comes off and is not to be doing that. The screws that hold the top and bottom together are broken due to the post office dropping it.
