I consolidated my loans with a company over a year ago called, University of One. I paid them their fees. I had no idea that consolidating would only raise my interest payment and make me go further in to the hole. I only made one payment to this company as far as paying off my loan debt. I never heard from them again. I received no snail mail or email that gave me a balance or a payment amount or due date. I recently wanted to buy a home and realized my credit report is just below 620 and I am not able to get pre-approved for a loan to buy a home! This past year I have paid off all debt except student loan debt. Now I CANT pay it off because university of one has gone off the face of the planet. NO NUMBER FOR THEM WORKS, NO WEBSITE CAN BE FOUND. I am unable to pay anything because I do not know where or how to pay them or get ahold of them. THIS SUCKS. I feel so naive and scared.
