Vanderbilt Mortgage Reviews

We have, unfortunately, been with this mortgage company for about 10 years. They should cease operations because of an extreme lack of professionalism in everything they do! We had to deal with an extremely bad hurricane as well as unemployment. They could care less. Due to these circumstances, we were a bit late in our payment. We were called incessantly. Verbally harassed and threatened. They told us to borrow the money from a family member or risk foreclosure. We owe practically the same amount we did 10 years ago. They tack on fees for reasons I've never heard of. We, too, were told Vanderbilt did not allow refinancing. We are stuck. At 16% interest, our mortgage amount is more than some who live in beautiful homes. We are in a double-wide mobile home which we have not had money to improve. This company really needs to be investigated. I was told by someone at Vanderbilt that the company was owned by Rupert Murdock. Wonder if he is aware of the damage his company is doing to hard working people. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I are purchasing a foreclosed home under Vanderbilt Mortgage. Our loan IS NOT through them but they own the home. We signed an agreement and received a closing date. 14 days before we are scheduled to close my husband and I turned in our 30 day notice to our landlords. We paid for Aprils full month of rent so we had time to fix a few boo boos the home encountered during our four year NEVER A DAY LATE on rent house. (Holes dug due to our dogs and painting the base boards we nicked with furniture and our toddlers toys.)

Apparently Vanderbilt is too stupid to check their titles to the homes they purchase (God forbid they actually read things) and due to THEIR negligence we have to wait for the title to be fixed. We had a signed contract stating we will be moved in on a certain date but could possibly be 5 days earlier or 5 days later than the listed closing date which was okay with us. However now we are 8 days past and still no luc with the title being fixed.

I thought things were hopeless UNTIL I faxed, emailed, and forwarded texts and the contract to a Real Estate Attorney. Lets just say whether we get that home or another it will be at THEIR expense. I have never been a ""sue happy"" person but after being treated like crap this will be extremely gratifying. I also received permission from my attorney to forward all listed above info to our local news stations. Maybe now dealerships will think twice before using these jack wagons for loans!

My mother, brother and I applied for financing a mobile home at Clayton Homes. Everything was cool, ""you're approved"". Then things kept changing. They wanted upwards of 14 percent interest. The salesman actually told me that it was because of my mother's age. He said, ""It looks like discrimination, but it's not, they're offering a loan.."" I'm sorry, but that is discrimination and a violation of federal law. Under federal law you cannot change the terms or interest rates because of race, creed, age, religion etc. Recently, I called another Clayton dealer amd told him about my experience with Vanderbilt. He told me that ""I know we're not supposed to.. but we'd have to take age into consideration again.."" blah blah blah. That's an actionable cause, and next time I will take legal action.
