We purchased our Otto in 2006, for $2000.00. We have owned shepherds for 30 years as family pets, and did our research before deciding on Vom Kammer to get our next family member..
We assumed we were getting a healthy, top quality shepherd, but boy were we wrong. We immediately fell in love with Otto, and he fit right in our family, and got along so amazingly with the 2 chihuahuas and many cats in our home. He was just as sweet as could be.
We first noticed Otto having seizures when he was just 3 months old. When the vet told us, after bloodwork and exams, that he was probably epileptic, we contacted Roberta. Not to return him, we loved him very much, we were concerned and wanted to know more about his medical history.
Roberta denied ever seeing ANY of her dogs have 'epileptic seizures' or any other health issues.Ottos mother died when she was just 7 years old.
Otto lived a very happy life full of love, but it was also filled with seizures that would sneak up without warning, and cause our family much anxiety and heartache not knowing if he was going to make it through the seizure. We thought he was going to die, many times.
Otto died 2 days ago, at the age of 8, of a seizure that he couldn't recover from.
He was our loyal and loving best friend. He will be very much missed in this home.
I am writing Otto's story to let everyone know the truth. Please DO NOT purchase dogs from BACKYARD BREEDERS
They are the most morally corrupt, unethical, inhumane form of scam artists
Please consider adopting from local shelters, the SPCA, Saratoga County animal shelter, HOPE, ADK save-a-stray
