Received a letter in the mail ("acceptance letter") for a Consumer Service Evaluator job. The letter outlines a secret shopping job, where they provide you with a check for $1991.92, a user name and password, and several shopping assignments.
Once you deposit the check, you are supposed to remove the funds, complete the shopping assignments, provide evalutation reports back to WalmartWebControl.com and you keep the merchandise.
Having previously done secret shopping assignments, the deal seems legit. There are no reports on BBB about this company.
I deposited the check, and now, my bank has closed ALL my accounts, because I deposited a counterfeit check.

I received a payroll check from Walmart Web Control, it sounds very legit, a check that has a breakdown 1.) Participation Pay for first week $350 2.)Stipulated Amout for Evaluation (see survey assignment #1) 3.) Required Funds for retail shopping assighnment (see survey assignment #2) This all comes out of a payroll check sent to you $1991.00 because you were selected to participate in a paid "Quality Control Program" working as a "Consumer Service Evaluator".
If I am wrong about this being a scam I will so apologize, but for now I have no reason to doubt that that payroll check for $1991 will come up insufficiant funds and all the money that I thought I had to spend is not going to actually be there and I am going to have to pay back my bank because of that check bouncing.
This is a SCAM. I fell for it. Now Ihave to prove to Chex Systems that I'm not a scammer my self. I did keep all paper work so hope fully I will be cleared of this and be able to have my checking back. Sham on the bank for punishing us the honest costumer (BOA ). The letter said to go on line to activate the check. I did exactly what it said to do. i took the check to my bank the and they thought it was real. thank god my account no money in it.This letter sounds very real. Mickey Hemet, Ca.
I recived a check for $1991.62 by walmartwebcontrol.com to be a secret shopper. The check looks legit with Walmart's headquarters address and even the signature (name) of the current VP of Finance. I went to look up reviews and couldn't find anything except someone else's complaint on here just the other day.
So I than did a web url owner lookup on GO DADDY. It revealed that the owner was Rebekah Bowden from Maple Heights Ohio. The address is actually a residential home and there is no one with that name there.
I would contact Walmart directly before depositing this check.
I had received a letter today from WalMart web control. Enclosed was a check for $1991.62. It says to deposit check and keep $350 for self and shop at one of their stores and evaluate them. This just seems to good to be true. I did research and found other similar ones but with different company names. I didn't deposit it but thought I needed to report this.
