Signed up for their services. cancelled 3 days later. talked to a lady in Phoenix. she sd she would cancel and i would owe nothing. Sd she would cancelt the drop off of their garbage cans. (home) a few days later intercepted delivery guy for the the garbage cans. sd we cancelled and did not need. She sd since we had not got the cans and i had not received my first billing yet. Then I would owe nothing. So i called today and talked to Dwight. Asked why i was being charged $39.71. He sd it was for set up fees. I asked if they had even picked up anything. He sd he had no idea. I asked what the fees were for again. He sd that they were for maintaining their trucks and landfills. I sd please remove the charges. He sd he could not do that.I asked why? I sd this seems ridiculous. he sd he was sorry. I sd i guess this is a lesson learned. he sd have a good weekend! This seems to me as a bit of baloney. $39.71 for nothing. If i ran my business like this... would have no business!

When I started my business 6 years ago I contracted w/WM for a 2 cubic yard dumpster for about $52 a month.I had to sign a 3 year contract which then renews every 12 months thereafter.

As of June 2014 my monthly rate had crept up to $91 ("fuel surcharges", etc.). At the beginning of July I asked them to cancel service since I decided to switch to Springs Waste Systems because they provide the same weekly service for $39 - $52 cheaper and no contract.

Now WM tells me I have to pay them for 6 months - $551 - for early termination.

Since I signed the agreement I am stuck (or they won't take the dumpster away) paying it (the goodthing is the $ I save will more than make up for that).

SO if you are a business be aware that there are better options out there.
