I purchased a domain name for a friend who rec eived an email from webname solution offering a sale to purchaswe the websiste www.artistezone.com for just $199.99. I made the purchae but found it odd that I did not receive an email confirmation. Instead I registered on their website and to my surprise my order never showed up.
I called their phone number listed on their website which was a 646 area code and to my surprise the phone number was nonexistent. I then emailed them inquriing about my order. They responded immediately to my email saying the order will take 10 days to process. They apologized about the phone number not working and said they switched to an email only business. The said they would email me the login information once the transfer was made in 10 days. I immediately knew something was up but still waited the 10 days.
No money was taken from my account that I am aware of, but it is now 12 days later and I have not heard a word from them. I sent them two emails and this time I received no response to either. Although no money was taken from my account, they do have my debit card information so I called my bank and closed that debit card and ordered a new one.
After doing a search on the Better Business Bureau and finding out nothing, I did an internet search and found a lot of information about this website being a scam. I am naive about these types of things and I am wondering why they took my credit card information but did not charge it. What are they going to do with it???? This freaks me out.
