West Coast Movers Reviews

  • Sep 3, 2014

Budget Moving told me they can deliver my furniture to my new home in three days because they contract twith other movers to fill trucks, Western states Movers did an inventory upon arival at my home and assured me trhat every thing would fit on that 31' truck even with another load on board allready. Wrong it did NOT fit so they left things in the garage to be picked up later, on the second trip they were told to take everything, they did not,so they had to make a third trip and this time a friend was supervising and they got it all.

It has been 3 weeks now and they are telling me it will be another 7 days until delivery.

Communication has been one sided I have to call them, they will not return my calls and when I do get them they keep telling me lies, so why would anyone recomend this company?

I dont usually do reviews. BUt this compant West Coast Movers really deserves one. Spoke to Cheryl several times. Seemed really nice. Gave them exact amounts of boxes, the sizes and was extrememlty thurough. Even called to update when we added or delteted items. We are on a budget. Was quoted $3007. Moving day came! We had a call the night before saying they would be there between 9-10 am. 11 am rolls around and no call no show Husband calls and they told us they over slept. I can be understanding but if I showed up for work 5 hours late, that would be my last day, So 3pm rolls around and we finally have two guys show up in a truck that is almost full. We are a family of 5 that have lived in a home for 10 years. There was NO WAY all our sstuff was going to fit. They assured us it would. MOving went well on into midnight, this meant we misssed our going away dinner with family and friends which was a bummer. I asked Jack the mover/supervisor?? I had 3 extra boxes and a kids wagon that was going to be extra and how much did he think it would be? he said no more then $300 at the most. Well 12:30 am rolls around and surprise, surprise only half our stuff fit into the truck.HE also gave us a bill for $1100 more then our quote. they also stickered items in the garage that we told them specifically not to. It was obviously trash or staying with the house. We put all the items to be moved on one side.

He said there would be a second truck first thing in the morning because they had one in the are! BIG LIE! We were supposed to be on the road at 6am to lleave for our JOBS! The whole purpose of the move. We were promised that they would be in the office at 9:30 am if we had any problmes or questions, So Sunday, NO CALL, NO SHOW!!!! NO one at the office, no one returns a call even though that is a work day. Finall around noon a dispatcher calls us back with the news that there never was a truck in the area and one wont be there until Tuesday. REAL nice! I am beyond pissed at this point. They have jepordized everything and now we are leaving our home we love under stressful situation, we are tired and have an 18 hour drive with 3 kids ahead of us. We then had to inconvience other to come wait hours on Tuesday for the second truck to show up. Also my bid went from $3000 to $4200???!!!! WTF? for 3 boxes and a wagon? I dont think so. We finally got a call from Brittney a Supervisor after waiting days. Its so funny how technology works when they want your buisness, but when they screw up no one has cell phone computers or everyone is on a day off, no matter what day of the week. So we get to Texas and we are promisse our items that weekend. Wel you guessed it NO CALL, NO SHOW. Just holding our furniture hostage. Then they dont know who said what or why and everyone has memory loss there. Also when someone says ""I will lookinto it and cal you right back"". That means nothing. So we finally got our furniture on a Friday night. They movers who looked like ex cons from Russia finally left at 11:30. Apparently FRAGILE GLASS THIS SIDE UP means satck upside down on the bottom of the heaviest objects. I love that our $4000 temporpedic BRAND NEW bed looks like it was in an accident on the hghway and skid 100 yards, the power box is broken so they just hooked it up quietly and set it on the floor. REALLY nice. Broke a $350 ceiling fan, bent the front forks and wheel on a bike, broke an antique table, tore the wheels off my treadmill and left them n the street, I have beds to be put together since thy will NOT PUT KIDS BEDS back together, well the screews and dowls for all 3 of my kids beds did not make it. So now I have 4 broken beds. It wasnt fun living without furniture for 2 weeks, that was supposed to be here within a day or two of our arrival. SO IF YOU WANT BROKEN FURNITURE, SHADY, LYING MOVERS who break things and dont say anything, and a company and its employeeslike, Brittney, Jack, or Cheryl, who dont keep their promise, OVER CHARGE, DO NOT RETURN CALLS Say what you want to hear but dont deliver and are NOT ACCOUNTABLE, and all point fingers and blame eachother, Then I highly reccommend them. Otherwise save your money and frustrations. THIS was one of the MOST FRUSTRAINTING events EVER! They dont care about your time, money or valuables!!!!!

The absolute WORST moving company I've ever dealt with. This is long, but bear with me.

My husband was supposed to return from deployment so my baby and I needed to return across country to get back and set up a home for him. I had just given birth, I had never used a moving company before, and I was beyond stressed with everything that I needed to do. I just needed to get my things moved without a problem and I was excited when Eric told me the price and how easy he made it sound.

To start things off, I HAD to leave on a certain day and they were scheduled to come and get my things on that day. They didn't call after they had found out that they were not going to be able to make it that day and I actually was the one who had to figure out where they were. I had to leave all of my things outside at my mom's house and trust that they would eventually show up. I had already driven across country by the time that they got into gear. I had spent hours on the phone with the drivers trying to figure out when they would get to my mom's house, and one of the drivers actually had the nerve to tell me that they were going to go ahead and stop and get some food (after already being 2.5 days late for pick up). When they showed up at my mom's house they were incredibly rude towards her and basically just threw my things in a random unmarked truck.

Next, I was told that I would get my things within a week (AT THE LATEST, WE SWEAR) of pick up. Yeah, that didn't happen at all. I looked it up, and they legally had 21 days after the day of pick up to get me my things or I wouldn't have to pay them. They held out as long as they could by keeping my things in storage while I sat in an empty house for 21 days despite all my calling and pleading.

The day the moving guy came, it was an absolute disaster. Sincerely, it could not have gone any worse. Because they had shown up so late, I didn't get a chance to see how big the truck was going to be. I assumed that since I only had two rooms of things that they would use a smaller truck. They ended up bringing an 18 wheel truck and couldn't fit it down my street. I get a call from a frazzled guy at 8 at night telling me that there is no way he can get me my things so I needed to come get my things or he would leave with them. Um... okay?

I met up with the guy two miles away on the side of the road at this abandoned store. He (and his two young children) in the truck were there along with his giant truck. I could tell that he had no idea what was happening and I couldn't blame him for the lack of communication. I ended up calling the main company who was in charge of everything and I told them what the problem was and the guy on the phone rudely explained that ""it wasn't his problem and I needed to deal with it myself."" At that point I was absolutely livid. It was supposed to be a door-to-door service and I didn't think it was fair that I would have to pay since now I would have to pay for another truck to finish it. The driver informed me that until I gave him the cash that he wouldn't unload the truck and that he would take my things with him where ever the hell he was going. After several calls to the company, the owner of the company actually went so far as to threaten me by calling the cops (He was in another state, so he never did). He was rude, arrogant and downright nasty to deal with. The mover put all of my things on the side of the road and I actually had to pay for that. I was left at nearly 10 at night trying to figure out how to get all of my things home, and it turned out that I was not only missing things but they were also broken.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!
