I have been a customer of Western Dental since 2010 in the past I have had problems with customer service. But today 5/14/2015 is the last straw. For the past six months the have lied to me about my unsatisfactory dental work.Today I was told my dentures would done and ready to be picked up today so when I called the girl says thank you for calling how can I make you smile after giving her my name she put me on hold to return and say I'm sorry but they won't be ready for two more days. When asked to speak to a office manager I was told the there wasn't any thing the manger can do after going back and forth she hangs up on me.So I drive to the office low and behold there's a Angry Angry customer with the same problem. He is telling them that he was tired of being lied to.The guy could tell from my first inter action that I was also having a problem. We step out side exchange stories and name and numbers.

I went to the dentist to have my tooth checked, my crown fell off. I was told they could not see me because I needed approval from my insurance, that takes 48 hours.

I offered to pay with my credit card, they said they were unable to do that because they didn't know how to change from insurance paying to patient paying with credit card in the computer.

I need to wait 48 hours and go back again. How does a dentist office function when people do not know how to use the computer??????? I made the appointment two days prior to my appointment, why didn't they have the insurance approval ready???? No mention of my pain!!

I am not a new patient to this office.

I went there last March to get a new upper plate. It didn't fit. So they made me a new one. I got that one in August and 3 days before Christmas it cracked.

It took on average 3 months for each time to get a new upper plate.

When I called them to see about getting it fixed, I was told that it would take the same amount of time to get this one fixed as the other times.

So, I told them that I was getting married in less than 3 weeks and seeing as it was 3 days before Christmas, I went and got it fixed myself. It cost me $350.00 for a plate that should of lasted 10 years. I was then told that the rest of the account was going to zeroed out.

Well, lo and behold, guess what I found in my mailbox today?

A collection letter from Western Dental.

Tried to talk to numerous people and I cannot get a strainght answer-I am so tired of them!!!!

Western Dental is a meat market clinic that takes advantage of state aided recipients and govt. assistance programs. I took my disabled daughter there once previously & had such a bad experience swore I would never go there again. Well, shame on me. It was only because I was under the mistaken impression Western Dental was the only Medi-cal approved dental ofc. where my daughter could get dentures. WRONG! There are several other reputable pvt. practice dentists! Had I known this, I would have never subjected us to this Western Dental nightmare again! First was the lengthy 1 hr. lobby wait (although much faster than last time.) Then she was whisked away (I was not allowed) for the mandatory X-rays ~ X-rays are their big guaranteed payoff on all patients from Medi-cal) followed by sitting in an open area dental chair, left waiting for another 1/2 hr. for the dentist/price assistant team to come over. The dentist, Dr. Satori (in case he gave me an alias because I cannot find him licensed under the Ca. State Dental Board) he is the tall, skinny, bald guy) accused me of being "condescending" when I asked him if they always work together as a team (he was unwilling to begin alone.)

He never once asked us why we were there, instead, was more interested on naming off all the teeth that needed dental work than focusing on why we were there or answering our questions. Every question asked, he pushed off on the pricing assistant. At one point he even had the audacity to ask why I was doing all the talking for my (mentally ill) daughter. As if that was any of his business!

He rudely walked away & started on another patient before finishing up w/ us, so we had to once again wait for him to return since the assistant could not answer the questions he had refused to answer. It was like "pulling teeth" to get our questions answered or to have both "team members" there at the same time! When he finally returned, he said she could not get the free dentures from Medi-cal since she still had teeth remaining in the back of her mouth. Why didn't they just tell us that on the phone & save us the trip there? Because they would not be able to charge Medi-cal for (un-needed) X-rays! Any of the other costly options (implants, bridges, flippers) would have to have been out of her own pocket as he was only willing to do what HE wanted to do, not what SHE wanted. Western Dental gets away with these tactics because many of the people who come to them seeking help are uneducated, disabled and/or poverty stricken and don't have a voice to speak up for themselves or their rights. Most dentists offer free consultations and some offer free X-rays.

PATIENTS NEED TO REPORT PROVIDERS COMMITTING MEDI-CAL FRAUD.

Western Dental wants to charge me for additional 4 months of treatment at a additional $736 for my daughter braces. I have met all financial obligations with my orthodondist. On 10/9/14 Jasmine the office manager advised me off these additional services and cost. I explained to Jasmine that I have paid off my financial obligation with western dental. Jasmine said because my daughter missed some of her appointments, which caused her to miss treatment. I asked but what does that have to do with the additional treatment/cost? Because if she missed treatment then obviously she never received the missed treatment. Jasmine said that the dentist is saying she needs additional treatment. I asked Jasmine that I need to speak with the dentist. The dentist told me that my daughter still needs rubber bands and retainers and other treatment. I asked why the additional cost, were not these treatment already paid for in my Contract? The dentist said yes. So I don't understand why the additional cost? The dentist said because she missed appointments, causing her to miss treatment. But again I already paid for this treatment, correct? Yes, said the dentist. Jasmine told now sir are you going to pay or not. Because if you don't your daughter will not receive treatment today. I am very upset because this does not feel or sound right. I said fine I will pay. Jasmine came back another contract. I said I want to read this first before I sign it. After reading it, the contract was only stating my financial obligations. There is nothing stating what services are to be rendered. So I asked JasmIne about the services that still need to be rendered and why are not in the contract? Jasmine said they do not do that.I said im not signing a contract without knowing what I'm paying for.I need something in writing. Jasmine came back with a western dental flyer stating upper & lower retainers @4mons $150. I said what it is? Is this all the treatment my daughter Needs? Yes Jasmine replIed. I asked to speak with the dentist. I asked him that I need detail treatment services that I am going to pay for. Ghe dentist said they do not provide that. I said but you will take my money but not tell me what's it for. The dentist said I will write sometHing down. The dentist wrote on the same flyer:brush teeth & floss.I said what it this? I said to them we are leaVing. My daughter got a tweet from stella from western dental because my daughter tweeted to over 14k followers. We emailed Stella of situation, no response.

10/18/14 I called western dental Corp. And spoke with Dennis. He wasnt much help because he works in financial department. But one thing I did found out is that western dental has me in a last due about of $610. I told Dennis why if we Did not agree to anything.

Western Dental Centers Dangerous to Patients Health & Finances!!!

Ok, where do I start? One year ago, I took my daughter to the western dental in Orange, Ca. She paid the $89 first time visit which included x-rays, checkup and cleaning. Dr. tells my daughter she needs 3 root canals and that they would run her credit in regards to payment options. They run it and tell her that her credit came back a '0'. Huh? She has(had) excellent credit. They proceeded to tell her they needed $1,800 down to start treatment and then monthly payments of $100. She declined the root canals and they told her they will close the estimate since she did not want more services. She checks her credit one month ago and finds out that in fact, western dental reported her to all three credit bureaus for non-payment and late. She then disputes it and western dental reported again to the 3 credit bureaus, this time with a '0' balance. The problem is, because they erroneously reported her last yr. and 3 weeks ago, those 2 dings are still on her credit for 7 yrs. Due to the fact that it was their screw up from the beginning, those 2 false dings should be removed because as is, it looks like she owed the money and paid it off, which was not the case. We have constantly called their corporate office to seek answers and resolution but to no avail. Everytime we called, they would either hang up on us or send us to a 'supervisor' whose voice boxes were always full. We keep getting rude people and the run around.

I, myself, went into the Claremont, Ca. office just to see if I received the same treatment. Sure enough I did. I paid the $89 for the first time visit and was escorted to the back. The whole time there were two ladies from finance following me around, including during my treatment, discussing my credit and payment options for a bridge or implant that they 'strongly' recommended I have after I have a tooth removed. They also told me my credit came back '0'. Their exact words were,"It doesn't mean your credit is good or bad, it just comes up as a 0". Hmmm, Very suspicious. Needless to say, I declined further treatment and made sure they closed any possible records that would make me responsible for any future payments. Legal advice did not help. Basically there is not enough money for attorney to go after and take the case on a contingency basis. Sure he could probably have those dings removed altogether, but it would cost me $4,000 that I don't have. As a result, my daughters' credit has suffered greatly. I am also seeking the help of consumer advocates you see on the news channels. They just can't get away with this!

I went in here on August 19th, 2014. I was casually taking pictures of the tools around "the chair". I picked up one tool and it was sealed in a plastic bag by someone there at the office and in a bag that was clear on one side. The label said DISINFECTED and the date and someone's initials. The tool was severely corroded. I was surprised that we have to trust someone there at the office to clean the tools. How much do you want to bet THAT is sometimes not done right? I suspect they have people in-house clean their things so they save money from having a professional company do it. A regular dental tool company would rotate the stock and not give back corroded tools. I will bet you they are also cutting corners elsewhere too like using only water to clean tools etc. Since they are so ghetto and cheap that they use corroded tools, it makes me wonder where else they are cutting corners on just to save a buck. I'm not done... The story gets even BETTER! I did not write this review that day. All I did was post the pictures of that corroded tool on Yelp. I guess Western Dental is a Sponsor of Yelp and they found out I posted that picture. They launched an investigation to find out who I was. Why? Who knows. Retribution? Maybe. They must have asked every single Dentist and employee in the entire building if any Customer complained. They must have finally gotten to the Dentist that worked on me. Because then I got an un-solicited phone call from Western Dental's Social Media Response Unit at their Headquarters! This whole thing is such low class. I went back for another appointment and this time I saw bugs crawling in the ceiling light. I also saw brown stains on the dental light fixture from some previous dental job they did on someone or something. There is obviously a problem at this Western Dental office. And it has to do with maintaining a properly clean location. I'm disgusted!

I had no problem with dental service. The problem began when I asked the dental office to file my claim with AFLAC.

I did have to ask them a few times to file the claim. When they did, I received notice from AFLAC that the monies had been sent to Western Dental.

I asked the local office to check for the credit to my account so they may issue the monies to me. They could not help me and directed me to corporate office. I called and emailed corporate to ask them to audit my account because I was seeking to receive the monies that AFLAC had sent them.

I have received no reply from Western Dental. I did report this as well to AFLAC and they too have not replied to this case as they said they would contact Western.

My horrible experience started when I got a tooth ache for the first time in my life, I was well in my 30's . I guess I bit down and slightly cracked my tooth,. This was odd because I got myyfirst cavity at 23 yrs old, ive always had good teeth. I couldnt take the pain , I have extremely high pain tolerance. So my insurance recommend me to a couple of dentists, the only one that would see me right away was western dental.

I had taken my son to the stockton one with no problems. So I figured it would be about the same. So they took complete xrays which I thought

Was unnecessary since I was in tears from pain. I asked if they could do the rest at another date. So dentist came examined my teeth and said it had to be pulled. Like a baby a started crying.. not do to having my tooth pulled, so I exsplained that I had extensive ortho work done,. Braces for 3 1/2 years a porcelain filling or partial where I never got adult tooth.

I am very proud of my teeth. So I asked if they could do anything else I feared my teeth would shift.

He said no and that there was an infection . So he gave me a minute. And upon his return I had him check with all the dentists and he assured me my teeth wouldnt shift and id be fine. But my gut told me otherwise. But I assumed I was just paranoid. So I told him numbing had weird effect on me . Made me groggy. He said no. They numbed my gums with q-tip thing but waited till it wore off then gave me oral shots. ? Which

Made me feel nauseous. And started to extract my tooth in back on upper left. This guy couldnt pull it out, he literally was kneeling on chair besides me. And I felt every bit of it..but I just wanted over. He had to get a bigger taller guy. It took both of them to pull it out. It hurt do flippin bad I felt like I was gonna pass out, blood a nasty puss went everywhere. I though they wernt supposed to do this if infection was bad. It made me sick everytime I changed my goze. I was more sore than when I had all four impacted wisdom teeth pulled.

They said I needed all this exstensive scrapping and work done. But thank god I said I had to check with my work and insurance.

I thought all was ok untill 2yrs later as I had suggested my teeth slowly moved and now I have a horrible gap right inbetween my front teeth.my bite is off and it now pushed my lower teeth crooked. Im so devastated. And since it has takin so long for the shift im guessing its to late to hold them accountable. Im traumatized. My teeth were beautiful. Now it looks like I never even had braces. My braces were hell. I got them in the 80's. Bulky sharp metal wire. I was torcher. For what.. went from crooked mess to gappy crooked mess. Top it off im affraid of the dentist now.

BEWARE! They prey on low income folks. Prices without their “plan” are much higher than a private dentist, & with the plan, only slightly less than my private dentist.

They said I needed 5 crowns, (2 with root canals & posts) and 5 fillings. (2 teeth that needed crowns, they were going to fill (at a change) and do crowns later. I went to my dentist and he tells me I need 4 crowns, only 1 with root canal/post and no new fillings.

They were very rude about sending my x-rays to my dentist.

My 1st appointment was for cleaning, x-rays and assessment plan. It took 6 dental personnel to do this, and I was there for four hours, out of my home town.

Their "cleaning" consists of "polishing" and a stong water-pic. No probing for unclean areas in gums or hand tooling for tartar buildup or checking existing fillings.

If you are low income, think twice about what a good deal they are. Try to go to a regular dentist and see if you can work out a payment plan if it's too expensive. Remember you get what you pay for, your time is valuable and gas costs too much to drive out of town to get what you need. They "import" their dentists, with the stipulation that they work under the supervision of a certified U.S. dentist. The thing is, that certified dentist oversees many clinics and probably won't be there when you are.
