Wholesale Rewards Reviews

  • May 15, 2014

This company is comprised of a group of individuals (i.e. the owner and his managers ) who characterize themselves as ""we're a bunch of liars"" and their business practices as ""we sell to gullible people"". They are constantly changing their name to try and stay ahead of the bad publicity and consumer and former employee complaints that plague them due to their unprofessional and fraudulent conduct. A former employee recently filed a previous expose on this company alleging sexual harassment and rthis caused them to employ a slew of new names when contacting consumers.

They began using ""Member Services Group"" when contacting customers by e-mail which is misleading as this is the term American Express uses for its travel services (this is being reported to American Express) as they try to lend credibility to their fraudulent business; they also use the term ""Travel Services"" when contacting prospects by phone to avoid using the true name of the company; they recently put a new name ""Wholesale Rewards""on the door of the agency but this company is still Compass Travel or Travelooga.

The sexual harassment of female employees is rampany throughout the office with a certain manager Joey Russell constantly placing his hands on women under the guise of giving them a neck massage. Another manager Steve Kilichowski watches porn on his computer in his office and other managers have made blatant statements of that fact. Another manager was fired from his job at another company for sexual harassment before moving to Compass Travel. Any employee who has suffered at the hands of these men should file a complaint with the EEOC within 180 days of the incident to preserve their rights to sue.

The illegal drug use by the owner at the premises is openly spoken about by employees at the company. In addition alcohol use is a regular occurence during business hours by the owner and manager.

The aforesaid manager Steve Kilichowski continually exhibits fits of rage throughout the office screaming at employees and his use of Xanax does not does not control his offensive conduct. numerous employees have quit their jobs due to his abusive conduct. He always was a manager at another travel company and was fired for his unethical conduct including the non-payment of earned commissions to employees and this particular conduct has extended to this company as well where they engaged in constant non-payment of earned commissions to employees. Any employee who has been ripped off by these men should file a complaint with the US Dept. of Labor who will pursue unpaid wages on their behalf or in the alternative they can employ an attorney as Florida law provides for payment of attorney fees if even one cent in unpaid wages, comissions, etc. is recovered from such wilful non-payment.

In addition this company has screwed the US government out of taxes it should have paid as payroll and social security taxes on the behalf of those working for them. The company intentionally and improperly calls its employees ""independent contractors"" yet requires that those employees attend work at specific hours and to read from a script when dealing with prospects which the IRS has confirmed does not constitute an ""independent contractor"". This conduct unfairly shifts the tax burden of their business from the business onto the backs of their employees who they are out to screw over as much as the consumers they try to get to purchase their travel club memberships. A recent complaint to the IRS should have this fraudulent practice under review as well.

The best sales people they employ are continually leaving or are forced out if they complain about the mistreatment at the hands of the managers especially by Steve Kilichowski. The managers tried to force certain employees to travel to another city for a 4 day promotional event on the employees own dime (including their travel time round trip 1.5 hours, their own gas, their own parking fees) to receive minimum wage during the event and one extra hours pay to cover their travel time and costs with the prospect of getting a ""bonus"". These bonuses are always promoted when they are attempting to get people to come and work for them but those bonuses are virtually never paid. They refuse to provide employees with any accounting of the work they have done telling employees the information is confidential so as to having to confirm that the employee has actually earned commissions thet they did. The people running this company are dishonest and less than forthright with both their employees and the consumers they seek to defraud.

All people should be warned to avoid this company under it's many names either as a potential employer or as a travel company to do business with.
