Worldwide Brokers Inc Reviews

  • Jun 23, 2015

In Jan 2009 my husband and I signed a contract with World Wide Brokers to arrange a home modification on our behalf. They would not do anything until we paid the full 2400.00. The contract stated if they did not arrange a home modification with the first or second lender or a short sale they would return all but 500.00.

When we signed the contract Bill Webb was the owner and Guadalupe Alvidrez was the licensed officer or the broker. The first couple of months went fine, the person who was handling our case (Lori Terri and the manager at the time Rick Taylor seemed to be doing a good job with our case. All of a sudden in March we found out Rick Taylor quit. Lori was still working with us and was contacting both the lenders. Some time in March Lori also quit, we were assigned new people to handle our loans. Nothing was ever done after Lori left, I spoke with both the lenders and not one person from World Wide Brokers ever called them. I became very concerned and started calling the office and persons that were suppose to handle our case. Elroy who was the new manager kept refusing to return our calls, the person who was suppose to handle our case Marcos also refused to return our calls.

Finally I got the phone number of the owner Bill Webb (((REDACTED 6/22/2015 DUE TO VIOLATIONS IN TERMS OF SERVICE))) he did return our calls but only after I made 5-6 calls a day. The first time he answered he was unaware that I was a customer, after I explained the situation he said that he would make sure the modification was worked on, the first and second. After the first call it became very difficult to get him to return calls. I made dozens of call to World Wide and when they answered the phone it was always someone who had no idea what was happening but they would sure have the person that was working on our case return to us. Finally at the of May our primary lender did send some document for a modification, they were sent to the wrong address, again I contacted World Wide Brokers to assit with this and they were very very reluctant to help. Marcos made an appointment with us to write a new hardship letter. We noticed that the office was locked and there were very few employees. Marcos told me that they kept the office locked because they were not taking any new applications and they did not want people just walking in (I later found out that the people they did not walking in were attorneys and process servers) The letter that Marcos wrote was totally useless, somehow, although he claims he sent it the lender didn't get it (Thank God because it was very poorly written). Also they took down their Web site in March 2009.

About the end of May or begining of June I talked to both the primary lender and second lender, neither of them had any contact with World Wide Brokers at all since March! In June our primary lender contacted us because we were in danger of loosing our home. They had not had contact with World Wide Brokers and wanted to help us. We took them up on the offer and started a modification agreement with them ourselves and without the help of World Wide Brokers. I then found out that their licensed officer Guadalupe, who is a Broker had quit the comcpany back in Feb. 2009 because she was afraid that they way they were doing business she would get into legal trouble. She is/was also Bill Webb's girlfriend! I also found out that World Wide Brokers had never bothered to replace her with another Broker and without a Broker they could not settle home modification agreements! They had no intention of completing our modifications since Feb. 2009.

My husband and I decided to drive down to the office to see what was going on. We found the office locked and empty. The owner of another company in the complex told me that World Wide had moved out the week before. He told me that by everything he had seen and heard about them that they were "a bunch of crooks and needed to be in jail, because they cheated so many people out of their money". I mailed a letter to both Bill and Guadalupe at their own business addresses and marked on the envelope address correction requested, to date these have never been returned as undeliverable or with a different address. In the letter I asked what their intentions were regarding the modification, and that if they were not going to be able to resolve our home modifications that they return our fee. We have not heard a response of any type or had any of our money refunded.

As of this date, we still have not settled a modification with the second lender. We know that we are not the only persons that have been robbed by World Wide Brokers, Oscar, Ray, Felix and others went through the same thing with this company. We met each other just a couple weeks ago because we are all interested in taking legal action against Bill Webb and Guadalupe Alividrez. Bills license number (from the Department of Real Estate is 01516871 and Guadalupe's is 01111019.

At one point Bill was also a real estate officer. We would like to see action taken against him so that he will not be able to swindle anyone else in real estate again. If anyone has or knows of a class action suit against these persons we would like to be included. If not if an attorney can tell us how we can start a class action suit, or other legal advice we would gladly appreciate it. If you have had a bad experince from World Wide Brokers we would like to hear from you.
