I met Jay Keith on January 1st. He sold me a dream just like he did with other people. I wish I would have read this report before I paid him $3000. He talked as if everyone else was the problem but Jay is definitely the problem. He's a very good talker. He charged me $3000 to build me a website, host it for 1 year, a thirty minute commercial, construction of my logo and a one year business plan. None of these got done. He told me he would be done with my website in 1 week. When I kept asking him about it he started to get disrespectful and loud with me. He kept saying "this is why I don't want to work with our people anymore." Our people meaning black people. But when he came to my salon on January 1st he was telling my clients and I that he loves to help our people and doesn't know why we don't work together more often.
After 2 weeks of no progress I told Jay that I no longer wanted to work with him because I could see that Jay really did not know what he was doing. He might be good at other things but building a website was not one of them. I showed him a site of another hairstylist that I liked and he copied her format and made it mine. But Jay told me he was building it from scratch and that's why it was taking so long. After I asked for my money back Jay told me that a website cost $3000 and since he's been working on it for 2 weeks he's not giving me anything back. I told him our contract states that the website portion was roughly $250 and I was willing to let him keep that even though he did nothing. After that phone call Jay went MIA.
I called him everyday for 2 weeks and he never returned any phone calls. I'm in the process of taking him to court now. I felt the need to write this because it's crazy to me that Jay took the time to respond to all these reports but he can't find the time to return a phone call or respond to a certified letter. Jay is a liar and a thief and he will be stopped. He belittles people and says how they can't afford his services but I paid Jay exactly what he asked for so I'm confused why the job didn't get done. Maybe because he didn't know what he was doing from the very beginning. He tries to look like a big corporation but he's the only person working. I was upset reading how negatively he talked about his previous clients when he sleeps in his Mom's basement on a matress. How dare he talk down to anyone. He scams people and thats how he gets by.
