Adam Vest of YP promised I would get a minimum of 5 calls a month for 12 months if I signed up with YP advertising. I have gotten 3 leads in 3 months. I mostly get spam calls and wrong numbers. I tried to talk to him about it and see what could be done and he told me I am getting an unpresidented call volume and he uses me as an example to sell to other people. The only this unpresidented about my call volume is how many calls I get from solisitors and wrong numbers! I am NOT getting what I was promised in writing. I called Dawn Gilliam and had her listen to the calls I am getting and she agreed I was only getting solisitation calls. Adam Vest said Im not getting business from YP because I don't know how to close a deal. Well, I am NOT getting any potential client calls as promised when I signed the contract. Today he told me the was nothing more they could do. I am getting TONS of calls and if I don't like it, they can start collection proceedings.

How do you promise in writing to get at least 5 calls a month and then when I get none and complain, threaten to send me to collections? Adam Vest lies to get people to sign on. I would love to sue YP for false advertising.

Charles Suglia came to our place of business to try to get us to sign up with yp.com. We told him we only had a small budget to work with for advertising and needed to think it over. He returned and LIED to the owner saying "well just sign this and try it for a month for free" and then promptly returned to his office and filed the completed contract

This obligated us to pay an initial $1040.00 and also pay a monthly fee. YP.com ran that through our account without any notification which in turn made other checks written out bounce and we of course incurred the overdraft charges on that as well.

I understand that my boss should have read the fine print but how can this be allowed that a salesman can flat out lie to gain a sale at such a reputable company and then that company doesn't care that the sale was made that way and won't cancel the contract or refund our money

My complaint is exactly the same as Pecanchiro. The company is posing as the Real yellow pages and request signature on 1 side of a page while putting a charge on the back side. I know they are breaking infringement laws and they would not remove my listing which I couldn't find to begin with. They offer to cancel terms and reduce to 6 months and that's it.

I recently opened a business and have received numerous letters from phony advertisers/scammers that were easily identifiable and thus discarded. However, Yellow Pages Online Services sent me two "FINAL NOTICES" letters claiming that it was urgent for me to verify my listing. This paper also read "THIS IS NOT A BILL". Their logo, as well as their title, are remarkably similar to the REAL yellow pages and I idiotically sent in the mailer. I thought I was verifying my address with the REAL YP so that my listing in the printed book could be verified. I received an invoice about a week later stating that I owed $329 for 6 months of advertising. When I looked up their website, it was apparent that this was not the actual YP and I had been scammed. Calling the customer care line only resulted in me and whoever I was talking to getting frustrated. I was told I could not cancel this 6 months of service but that I had been removed from continuing service list.

They attempted to comfort me stating that I would only be responsible for the $329 instead of $658 as if that were to console me. After repeatedly asking to be removed completely and that I was not interested in their service, I was told this was impossible. I was told that the terms and conditions are clearly marked on the back of the mailer (which it was) but the entire thing is misleading and in no way, shape or form, a truthful way of conducting business. I just want all new business owners out there to be aware that YELLOW PAGES ONLINE SERVICES is not the real Yellow Pages! Don't be fooled like me!

Yellow Pages Directories sent me a mail that advertised a free online listing, of which I sent back. 1 to 2 months after I saw an invoice for $298. I contacted them on the phone and cancel the service because it was misleading and it stated that the listing was free. There is no mention of a paid listing service in the fine print but it couldn't be more misleading and I thought it was for one of the other online services. I called them and told them this was a wrong and that I’m not paying for this and they said they would send it to collection after 90 days.

Sales Rep, Tiffany McGhee, lied to owner concerning length of contract, assuring him that was only for three months. After signing, continued contract with company for over a year, stating that it was "understood" that we would continue said contract for that length of time. When manager called to cancel contract after three months, sales rep yelled, screamed and called the manager unpleasant names, acting completely unprofessional.

Company continues to charge for internet website that is not functional and not present. Being charged monthly fee for literally nothing. Sales rep won't take calls. Help center refuses to do anything stating that a note in the log made by sales rep says charge is to remain in effect.

This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with concerning any sales. Lies, refusal to help customer, delivering NO results on the promises made, claiming to have "hits" that are just not there. Faking results on their stats showing peak moments just before sales rep meets with you.

There are MUCH better ways to spend your advertising dollars - DO NOT use these people in any form of advertising and get out NOW if you have them.

Our company has been doing business for over 35yrs with the "yellow pages " now known as YP.COM Last year we noticed a marked decrease in the amount of calls that we were getting from the telephone directory. We had placed the ads with a remote call forwarded phone number to be able to track what calls were coming from the YP Directory. We noticed such a decrease in calls that were logged that we decided just to scrap advertising with YP for the 2014 directory. In the last few days of the ad campaign, the service rep contacted us and offered us a reduced price on the ads because they stated they did not want to loose our business after such a long time. We decided to give them one more chance to see if it could be worked out and start producing calls.

We are now 3 months into the directory and we are seeing no difference in the amount of calls coming in compared to last year. After repeated calls to our service representative as to the amount of directories that were actually delivered to the homes in our advertising area, we finally got the "TRUTH".

Unknown to us when we signed the contract for advertising and "NEVER" revealed, was a practice known as "Smart Directory Distribution". Which in laymen terms, means YP.COM determines through a computer algorythm who gets the directory delivered to their homes and who does not. I have contacted YP customer service and they confirmed that indeed they did start using "Smart Distribution" starting in 2013. Which would explain my decline in calls in 2013.

It is my contention that this is just outright fraud on the part of YP.COM. They knowingly took our advertising dollars and purposely sought to defraud us, due to fact they charged the same rate as in previous years and without telling us, and decided to reduce the amount of directories actually being put into customers hands. Their response to this acusation was to tell us the the homes where the directory was not delivered, were given a door knocker or post card explaining that the homeowner could call a 800 number and get a directory mailed to them. We have never seen any door knockers or post cards to prove their claims.

I stated to them that if I had known of this "new" distribution method, I would have never proceeded to do business with them. I have talked to numerous other business owners and asked them if they were aware of this practice by YP.COM, and not even one knew about it.

I have tried to contact the upper management of YP.COM in Tucker GA to discuss this inequity, and have been met with only silence.

I did talk with customer service at YP.COM and they scoffed at the idea of a complete redistributon of the directory to every home and instead offered me a 10% discount on the contract.

This action was meant for only one purpose and that was to take "Smart Distribution" dollars from our pockets and put them into YP's pockets.

I have tried to seach for this practice on the internet and it seems to be quite a secret. I understand why YP wanted to keep this quiet. If all their advertisers were to find out, I think that be no YP Directory.

I have tried to talk sense to YP.COM and have been met with only disdain that I should even question them about this insane way of doing business. They made it clear to me that they know my customer base better than I do, and they have no intention on changing their direction.

My advice to any business that plans on doing advertising in the YP Directory is to ask about this distribution method and read over your contract very carefully for wording covering this.

I am sure that YP.COM will continue this and try to hide it in the contract language so you don't catch it until it is too late.

This is tantamount to a printer that was hired to do wedding invitations and altered the number in invitations sent out for the bride based on some idea of who might show up to the wedding and who might not show up. Now the wedding is over and the bride is left scatching her head as to why so few showed up to the wedding. But now it is too late. The wedding is over and no amount of discount for the invitations is going to change the fact that some did not get the invites and never showed up.

That is the same way business works. Once you loose that customer, they are gone.

I have tried to be as accurate as possible in my description of my dealings with YP.COM and if they have a rebuttal as to the accuracy of my facts or my depiction of the events, I will be more than happy to listen to their side.

My name is Yali Genereux and my company name is: State 2 State auto transport. Jeffrey Lewis contacted my husband to sell him advertising with YP yellow pages and assured him and told him we were getting certain type of advertising with them and a certain placement and banner for their website. After my husband signed the contract for 6 mos. everything went to hell from there. Nothing the salesperson said we were getting was happening, from calls on services we dont provide , to a disconnected number for our company on their site, to not the placement or banner he said we were getting. Could not even reach the salesperson to discuss why things were not being done. After a few weeks of getting the run around from Jeffrey Lewis and not getting the type of advertising we were supposed to get, my husband and I told him over phone and via email, we wanted to cancel advertising with them. We no longer felt comfortable with him and the lies and misleading information he had provided us. He stated to send a certified letter to cancel the account which we did. We later find out our account is still active and open even after he received our certified letter to cancel. I had to call the billing dept. and spoke to Jimmy and he cancelled account for us and advised me we were no longer going to be charged and the account was closed and our credit would not be affected. A month later we start getting calls from Collections agency in YP that our account was still open and active. Aparently, once Jimmy in the billing dept. sent the cancellation to the sales dept, they opened it up again and continued to charge us the monthly fee. Thank god we had closed out our credit card once we first cancelled in June and disputed the first charge or else they would have continued to charge us every month. We spoke to every manager, general manger, sales person, collections dept. customer care dept. at YP and all we kept hearing is that our account is still open and there was nothing they can do. I kept stating the same thing that I was not going to pay for anything and that i had cancelled this account and want nothing to do with them with any advertising or services. We have been back and forth since June 2013 till now Jan. 2014 with this company. We have had calls from every dept. and I even made a report with the Federal Trade Commissions on this dept. in Pennsylvania. I am now getting calls from a lady named Renee Future from an office she claims to be a lawyers office working on YP behalf to collect the money owed to them. If you look them up, they are part of YP and are a collections office. I have been lied to, mislead and mistreated by all these people from the YP.com, Yellow Pages dept. and want to make sure no one else speaks to them and signs any contract with them for advertising because you will not receive the services they state you will get for the money they charge you. They are a rip off and they will continue to harrass you till they get money frmo you even after you cancel with them for all the lies and misleading info. they give you.
